How are Canelo and Golovkin comparable?

In Canelo's last fight he was under the Jr WW limit, he has never been over it.

3 years ago, Canelo was at 147.

Golovkin has never been lower than 159 lbs his ENTIRE career which has spanned 7 years and has even weighed in over the MW limit on multiple occasions. And it's been even longer than that since he weighed 154 as an amateur.

It's not the same at all.

Expecting Mayweather to fight a guy who's entire 7 year career has been at MW is ridiculous to be honest.

It doesnt matter if 6 months ago GGG was a 100 pound hooker named Natacha working the streets of Kazakhstan.
Today he's the WBA champ at 160, while Floyd is the WBA champ just one division below at 154lbs. If GGG has no problem in going down to fight him then there's no problem other than Floyd not wanting to risk getting beaten which seems to be a recurring problem with him.

floyd will fight for GGG's middleweight crown and demand a catch weight of 155lbs then go on public and say that he didnt want the catch weight it was GGG who wanted it.

I think GGG should campaign at both 160 and 154 and dont let these fighters off the hook by cherry picking their way to greatness by not fighting threatening opposition.

Glovkin has been @ 160 for almost a decade, and has no business returning to 154 for Mayweather or anyone else. if he hasnt fought Martinez, and guys like Canelo or Lara at 160 then he shouldn't even be in a Mayweather discussion.

If Golovkin moves down to 154, proves he can make the drastic drop in weight and puts himself into position of demand for the fight then yes I agree entirely.

How do you know Golovkin has stopped growing? You believe Mayweather has grown from when he was 30, do you not?

Canelo's heavier in fight night. As was Arturo Gatti. As is Victor Ortiz. Weighing in at the weights they can/did are completely different stories.

If Rigondeax had been a 122 lber for 7 years and a fighter at 116 (6lbs lower) was in his 5th weight class at 116 and usually fights at the division lower than 116 (which is another 7lbs lower) then I very much doubt that the smaller fighter would be expected to fight Rigondeax, considering.

He's only once hit 10lb rehydration. If you're under 10lbs, in this day and age that's smallish. Solid, fine, nitpicking. Canelo just went up 18.

If that fighter was p4p #1, 2x, unified, lineal bantam champ, I think the fans would be licking their chops over the matchup, especially if Rigo said he'd drop down.

yeah because everyone's ducking the ATG Golovkin.....whatever...this dude won't beat a past prime Sergio. I proudly do not believe the hype surrounding this GGG kid, I think he has great punching power and a fighters temperament, he has a decent set of skills as well, but he is the most exaggerated fighter since Manny Pacquiao. I don't think he can make 154, and don't think he beats Sergio or Quillin who both campaign in his division. I also think he gets beat by Ward at 168. I think Golovkin looks tremendous when he's fighting C and D level fighters, but when he eventually ups his competition we will see how good he is. I don't think he's that great of a fighter, honestly. He can punch.
