    100% agree.

I love how people are claiming Eubank was not still very near prime when he just lost a split decision to Collins who was the best 168lbs guy at the time and then a year after Joe beat him up Eubank gave Thompson a very close fight even dropping the bigger stronger champion.

I think slightly passed prime is a slight understatement.

Most considered him to be declining as early as the Benn rematch.

He was certainly considered to be well beyond his prime for the Collins fights with lack luster performance after lack luster performance.

It was considered a test and step up for no other reason than his opposition at that particular time was just that awful.

Eubank was still world class and at that stage of his career would walk through most of Ward's best opponents. He was only 31 and coming off good wins and a razor thin SD loss to Collins. He had enough left after Joe beat him to move up to cruiser and give the best 190 lbs fighter on the planet all he could handle and dropped him. Yeah he was near prime unless you think a shot fighter is able to fight at that level against world class opponents.
So Dawson was done after fighting Pascal but Eubank was near his prime when he fought Calzaghe? You're not even trolling, you're just plain ******.

That's going too far brah but I feel the love for Joe.

Hopkins was past his prime but is still good enough to beat 99% of any 175lber even today.

RJJ was near prime and Joe outclassed him.

Kessler was 100% prime when Joe made him look like a punk and took his soul.

Calzaghe made his 20th defence against Peter Manfredo Jr lol
He made his HBO debut against Sakio Bika lol
And his only ppv fight against Jones struggled to do 200,000 ppv buys lol
In fact they gave away thousands of free tics for the Jones fight because it was a total failure lol
Out of 20 championship fights he managed to fight 5 or 6 top-10 guys in a 10-year period.
It took the guy 9 years to grow a pair and fight for unification.
The fact he was shouting 'Im the man' after knocking out Mario Veit says it all for me, I'm just glad there's real boxing fans out there who can see it!

At 43-years-old there's a strong argument that Hopkins edged Calzaghe if you're scoring based on effective aggression and clean punching and defence and ring generalship. Calzaghe threw a lot but he was missing most of his shots and what he did land didn't look all that solid, probably why Hopkins didn't have a scratch on him. But Hopkins did tire, and I would envisage prime Bhop to replicate the first round of their fight over and over until as long as it lasts.
