Pascal took his soul. Chad was a dead man walking since he left Montreal.

Eubank was still world class and at that stage of his career would walk through most of Ward's best opponents. He was only 31 and coming off good wins and a razor thin SD loss to Collins. He had enough left after Joe beat him to move up to cruiser and give the best 190 lbs fighter on the planet all he could handle and dropped him. Yeah he was near prime unless you think a shot fighter is able to fight at that level against world class opponents.

Ward of course. No matter how you try to slice it, calzaghe wasn't that great. Ward has already surpassed him by far and his resume consists of fights happening when it mattered where as calzaghes resume is almost nonexistent because he fought nobody except for Kessler when it mattered.

Froch, Kessler and definitely Ward have established a better resume than calzaghe by now. The truth of the matter is that Calzaghe never really did much besides beat an old but still somewhat capable Hopkins (and that depends on what you like; slaps or landed punches) and the only truly meaningful fight he ever won was Kessler.

Since his retirement Ward has gone on to dominate the whole division and whoop everyone WHEN IT MATTERS. It's hard for diehard calzaghe fans but Ward is the most accomplished fighter in the short 168 pound divisions history. That's a fact!
Whoop everyone when it matters? Like who? Kessler who Calzaghe whooped years previously? Abraham who Dirrell and Froch whooped just before him?

      Severely overrating Ward's resume.

If this is a serious question then the answer is as follows: Ward still has years to go and his resume stomps on Calzaghe's! Joe had 21 championship fights and like or 5 or 6 of those fights were against top-10'contenders in his division. He has some decent wins and was a good fighter in his own right but I can't appreciate that slapping technique he had, coupled with his very careful management to pad out his record on low risk high reward fights. I think a today's Ward beats any version of Calzaghe's, and there's a strong argument to be made that old man Hopkins edged him.

the biggest name on his resume is roy jones jr. i defy you to claim roy jones was past prime. he just came off a win over tito trinidad and even after calzaghe schooled him jones beat jeff lacy. case closed. prime.

Near prime Eubank that Joe beat was far better than Froch.

Yeah I'm not seeing how Wards best wins are better than Joe's at 168.

Also 2006 Bika > 2010 Bika that Ward couldn't put a dent in.
lacys better than Abraham...nah bro...lacy was crap..nd eubanks was way last it..ward sipped out his division...entirely...with ease...but we still don't know if ward will fin undefeated

                      True.

Lacy was still the goods and could beat most top guys.

To be fair though RJJ was near prime when he fought Joe. I wouldn't say prime because that was probably 2 years before but he was still very close to it and Joe beat a still great version of Roy pretty easily at Roy's best weight.
