Yeah I'm not seeing how Wards best wins are better than Joe's at 168.

Also 2006 Bika > 2010 Bika that Ward couldn't put a dent in.
Ward's resume at 168 is kinda overrated.

I think people believe there is such a disparity because Calzaghe took a long time to unify whereas Ward entered the Super Six and unified quite quickly.

Like I said before, it's a bit of an unfair comparison because the fighters simply weren't there to make a Super Six during Calzaghe's era and Ottke was a fight that couldn't happen.

          Near prime Eubank

You mean the 50 fight shopworn Eubank who had to come down from cruiserweight on 11 days notice?

Oh we are talking about beating weight drained fighters coming down to 168.

            Remember Chad Dawson anyone?

eubank was prime. sure he hadn't beaten a ranked fighter in over 3 and a half years, sure he got gift decisions against unknowns like amaral and schommer, sure he never won another fight in his career, sure he took the fight on short notice and was weight drained, other than that he was great.

Is this the obvious answer thread or what?

Ward of course. No matter how you try to slice it, calzaghe wasn't that great. Ward has already surpassed him by far and his resume consists of fights happening when it mattered where as calzaghes resume is almost nonexistent because he fought nobody except for Kessler when it mattered.

Froch, Kessler and definitely Ward have established a better resume than calzaghe by now. The truth of the matter is that Calzaghe never really did much besides beat an old but still somewhat capable Hopkins (and that depends on what you like; slaps or landed punches) and the only truly meaningful fight he ever won was Kessler.

Since his retirement Ward has gone on to dominate the whole division and whoop everyone WHEN IT MATTERS. It's hard for diehard calzaghe fans but Ward is the most accomplished fighter in the short 168 pound divisions history. That's a fact!

i said prime. you are just a calzaghe hater saying eubank was only near prime. everyone knows eubank was at his best and was totally rejuvinated. eubank was only 33 years old!
