No fighter can be taken seriously in rankings with no fight footage.

You can pretend all you want to know how great maxie rosenbloom, terry mcgovern, midget wolcast, and some other former great white hope, but people are not buying it.

at least people who believe in analytical honesty.

Let's be honest, you know nothing of those fighters.

You just blindly dismiss them because they're "old".

Ezzard Charles was passed his best, but he was still considered to be one of the best LHW's in the world and one of the best fighters all together.

He beat Rex Layne the same year he lost to Johnson. He beat Bivins the year before that and went on to give Rocky Marciano one of his toughest fights.

And of course, he was absolutely less faded then Erik Morales.

But Barrera and Marquez were in or close to their prime so not those two. But of course, Ezzard Charles is a lot greater than both of those two by an incredibly wide margin.




Again, they only had 5 fights.

And Archie Moore is superior to Johnson. Vastly superior. Moore is a Top 10 ATG. Harold Johnson? Not even close.

But, he holds a win over him.

he has got to be ranked highly for the work that he's done pre-2009. all of the lineal titles, the jumping weight classes and obliterating some good names ie: Cotto and Hatton in weight classes where, at the time, nobody believed he had any business campaigning at.

The controversial Bradley loss will help him depending on how successful Bradley ends up.

I think I would have him (i am guessing because I have never done more than a top twenty) some where around 35 to 40.

I really don't understand fans getting angry about Manny being ranked at 50 or whatever. That means he is one of the top fifty fighters in history -- tens, maybe hundreds off thousands of fighters.

Ok so let's play the "when" game.

By your reasoning the legendary Eddie Booker should be top 20 at least because he beat a young prime Archie and Holman.

In fact Archie was only 28 when Booker KOd him. He also never beat Booker. After that Booker beat Holman who was clearly badly faded at the old age of 28 he was so over the hill 3 years later Holman gave Cerdan the middleweight champion a very hard fight. Obviously Booker beat these guys on the way down.
