So Pacquaio and Duran are in the same boat in that regard.

Duran was a very small Jr Middleweight and Middleweight.

His fans didn't cry and complain when people liked the idea of him moving up even further and look what he was able to do when he did.
Out of curiosity....why do people compare Pacquiao's climb in weight to Duran's?

Roberto is a lot bigger than Pacquiao, so It's only natural that he would be able to get to 154, and 160 a lot faster than Pacquiao.

Duran during his prime, Duran was a huge lightweight who should have really been fighting at 140.

Manny only reached LW, JWW towards the tail end of his career.

I imagine it's because Duran covered a lot of weight in his career as did Pacquaio.

He's bigger than Pacquaio and obviously isn't comparable in terms of "Duran fought at 160 so Pacquaio should" I haven't heard anyone say that personally but what's being compared I imagine in this specific situation is Duran could have stayed at a more comfortable weight but he moved up at times when it wasn't necessary.

Pacquaio-Martinez is a realistic fight that can happen and Pac can win, IMO.
FWIW, Manny and Floyd aren't facing Martinez until either they face each other or until they realize there is no chance in hell for a fight between the two to occur.

However, I agree with you and I like Manny's chances. I feel there is a 50-60% chance Martinez wins, and a 40-50% chance Manny wins.

As a Pacquiao fan, Floyd and Sergio are the only fights that mean anything at this point. Anything else is just Top Rank and Pacquiao getting a huge payday.

Also, most of these people cry about catchweights, but this fight demands it (to make it fair for everyone involved). Something along the lines of 152 would be perfect.

I agree. I don't think it will happen but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love it to.

But, I won't be too disapointed if it doesn't come off, personally.

To be honest with you I think Pacquaio can beat Martinez weighing in at 154. It don't think it's out of the question.

But, I would take a catchweight of perhaps 152 or around there as long as Martinez can make the weight healthily and be effective. If he's visibly drained that the weight then I don't want it.

Ideally, 154 would be the best option IMO but he would be at a big disadvantage but just imagine if he pulled that off? It would be incredible and I think he's capable.

Yeah....I like 154 as well. I just think the Carlos Monzon vs Jose Napoles fight is what will prevent something like that from happening.

Perhaps but we've seen shocks like that happen before and of course on the flipside we've seen Monzon-Napoles situations but it's a risk worth taking considering if it pays off it's so incredible and if it doesn't it it's ok because it wasn't really expected.

People don't hold Napoles down for getting dominated by Monzon considering how far he was out of his element but at the same time his fans didn't cry and complain at the idea of him moving up to an "impossible" disadvantage to try and enhance his legacy.

I mean, just imagine if Napoles won that fight.

It's unlikely though and like I said I won't hold it against him or consider him to be ducking Martinez if the fight doesn't come off but still I'd love to see it.

HBO will claim it's the greatest thing ever etc. etc. and the 'tards will mob this place to rub it in every single one of your ****** faces every day of the week! LMAO!!!!

Sergio beats Manny at any civilized weight....but he's not blowing him outta the water though imo...Manny would put hands on Sergio...enough hands to make it a good scrap...I even think Manny would score a knock down...but at the end of the day, the THINKING man beats Manny imo...and Sergio be brainstorming in there....thats why he be raining on dudes and scoring late stoppages....or he'll get you EARLY in a rematch....the ultimate THINKING man!!...thats Manny's poison!!

You can argue the possibility of a decision victory for Pac, it wouldn't be that far fetched but a KO win? Even buboy would laugh at your ass for being such a ****rider.

Don't be a selective reading prick and read everything I said.

I said currently, Manny don't have no chance at Sergio with reason I stated and one of 'em is Pac being soft and seemed to lost his fire and killer instinct, aside the fact of the size disparity. It's just ridiculous.

And further I said if Manny can bring back the old fiery form he was then he can win against Martinez, since we're talking fantasy fights here that's where I'm at.

IDGAS whoever laughs at my azz coz either way it's IMO and you can just lay down how you see it which you obviously don't coz you preferred to nitpick. So put up a worthy plea or again just STFU!
