bollocks. welterweight williams won a few alphabet titles, he was never the champion.

mosley was shot, he is still better than williams, thats why he is a 3 weight world champion.

de la hoya was weight drained, he is still going down in history as a better fighter than williams.

hatton owned a division for 4 years and beat a guy ranked p4p number 2 who is now in the hall of fame.

i agree marquez beat pacquiao but officially he lost. and there can be no arguement whatsoever about marquez and williams. marquez much much better than williams.

Ok Which version of Pacquiao stops Martinez? We're not talking about just winning, we're talking about Pac scoring a KO over Martinez. Which version of Pac can accomplish that feat?

One thing I don't understand is people think Manny or Floyd would have an easy time with Martinez but then go on to cite his weight as a reason for the fight not happening.

Martinez would humiliate Pacquiao and I would favor him to beat Floyd. That's the truth everyone knows but fall short of saying when talking about why the fight should not occur.

i think the pac who had less-than spectacular performances against the bigger guys lately can still knock maravilla out if he wanted to and/or the circumstances present itself...

sergio would take it as a career/life defining fight so we know hes gona be ready, maybe even overtrain a bit...but we gotta understand, he has never fought a guy like pacquiao before, and who knows what will happen when he gets hurt..better yet, what will happen if he happens to hurt pacquiao and goes in for what he thinks will be the kill, only to have manny punish him on the rebound.

Pavlik being as LARGE as he is/was, was a far bigger threat to Martinez than Pacman is.

What the hell will pac do to beat martinez? He doesn't have any clear advantage what so ever in ANY area and is damn near 40lbs smaller than Pavliks fight night weight (which was 178 against martinez).

You guys are reaching. I understand if you are a pac fan, cool. But he does nothing that would make me believe he could handle getting hit that fast and that hard. His defense sucks, he lunges into counter punches, he's not very godo AGAINST counter punchers, and he doesn't deal with movement that great either.

Pacmans workrate, which is always peoples arguement in any pac debate, doesn't exist when his opponent moves, doesn't square up, or makes punches miss instead of blocking them.

All of these things martinez does. martinez is the exact style that a guy like pac should stay a way from. Oh, and he's a southpaw, like pac. Stylistically it's all wrong for pac. Does that mean Martinez is teh better fighter? obviously not. You don't rate who the better fighter is by pitting them against each other, you just don't.

Pacman would always eat a guy like Margarito up because they have to walk into his blender, martinez didn't. BUT,
JMM will always give a guy like Pacman fits, because they lunge into his counters, same counters that a guy like martinez looks for.

That's just how it works. I'd favor Pacman over a lot of fighters that I wouldn't favor martinez over.. but i would NOT favor pacman over martinez.

Not too sure bout that. When Martinez got dropped by both Pavlik & Macklin, it got all bad for those guys. This is even assuming Pacman can hurt Martinez which I don't think he can.
