In boxing there are weight classes and certian weight classes have different advantages. Being a 6 ft heavyweight is nothing special but if you are a 6 ft welter weight, that's an advantage. That doesn't mean you can't be a straw weight and be naturally gifted.

    Do you understand the difference?

I don't dispute that in the least and like I said, my praise of one isn't an insult to the other. I'm comparing Floyd to JMM and when you compare those two's physical tools, JMM falls very short. It doesn't mean JMM is as slow as Margarito but he definitely has had to work with much less. Like I said, for him to be at this level at 39 yrs of age is ridiculously impressive. That's not taking anything from Floyd in the least.

In the case of Chavez he had different physical abilities that could be comparable. Taylor was definitely faster but Chavez was a much harder puncher and his chin was one of the greatest in the history of boxing.

So there's a basis for comparison there. JMM doesn't have a great chin, he doesn't have a bad one but we have seen him hurt and down many times. Chavez was down once against Frankie Randall and everyone was shocked to see him fall, that's how good his chin was.

There are different physical gifts one could have and my argument is that JMM really wasn't blessed with any of them. It doesn't mean he's an invalid...lol

Just that he can't rely on other things the way gifted fighters can.

didnt floyd get suckered into a brawl with castillo?

and jmm cant get suckered into one with diaz?

and that doesnt mean either guy isnt as smart as each other.

floyd mayweather is a superior counterpuncher not by IQ, but bc he's quicker and longer. thats it.

Im pretty sure with your boxing knowledge, you couldnt tell me, with examples, who has better ring IQ. Furthermore, Castillo is a far better fighter than Juan Diaz......

Completely disagree. There are things that a 5'11 QB can do that a 6'5 QB may not be able to and vice versa. Ok, Flutie's not Peyton Manning, but he was a boatload better than Ryan Leaf. There goes your natural ability crutch. Cry about it to your fellow Mayweather haters.

Again, you've been arguing natural ability, not gifts.... anyway, I disagree with this as well because claiming that JMM doesn't have gifts is ridiculous.

Shouldnt Bernard Hopkins be more more impressive to you because no matter how much phyically gifted he is compared to JMM, he is still fighting when he is SIX years older than JMM
He's also won world titles at higher weight classes and at an older age, but he probably possesses that natural ability and those gifts.

I think Mayweather is absolutely a better counter puncher than Marquez.

I'm suprised such an amount of people think Marquez is better.

To me it's as clear as day that's it's Mayweather.

JMM changed his style as he got older though from his forum days...The older he got the more "fan friendly" he became...He never got talked about with the likes of his counterparts like Morales and Barrera because he didn't get into the "wars" that they got. Until later on in his career when he lost a step and changed his style to be more offensive.

And, you can't say that JMM is the best or most in anything EVER...Especially when anything JMM can do Lopez could do it better. And, JMM IQ might be high but Lopez was higher. The only thing JMM got over Finito is resume and accomplishments. JMM is an ATG he proved to me in his last fight cuz' I did have doubts about him. So I don't mean this in any disrespect but he's a poor man Finito.

Hopkins impresses me greatly as well. He is an amazing fighter and one of the best MW of all time. The fact he has adapted later in his years is the same type of argument I am making for JMM no doubt. It's not very likely that men fight past 40 or even into their late 30's and keep that championship level.

                      Hopkins is more impressive.

No offense man, but you don't understand the comparisons I'm making and I just can't keep repeating myself.

That's not what I said at all, you need to re read what I wrote.
