And, you can't say that JMM is the best or most in anything EVER...Especially when anything JMM can do Lopez could do it better. And, JMM IQ might be high but Lopez was higher. The only thing JMM got over Finito is resume and accomplishments. JMM is an ATG he proved to me in his last fight cuz' I did have doubts about him. So I don't mean this in any disrespect but he's a poor man Finito.
That's not an insult in the least. The problem with people on here is, if you make an argument in contrary to what they post, they take it personal and get their feelings hurt.

Finito was arguably the greatest Mexican fighter of all time, so to compare anyone to him is nothing but a compliment. Yet the way people argue here goes like this:

Poster A: Cotto is a better boxer than Ortiz!!!

Poster B: I think Ortiz can beat Cotto

Poster A: So your saying Cotto is garbage then.

That's the just of every debate on here. It's "your great" or "you suck" there's no in between....hahaha

Bad comparison. I would have used Doug Flutie if you know who that is to compare to JMM.

Great post, I always thought Marquez was a poor man's Ricardo Lopez which is actually a hell of a compliment if you know how sick Lopez was.

I also agree with TS, Marquez can't counterpunch on the move, he needs to stop and plant his feet before throwing counters. That's one of the reasons why Floyd is a better counter puncher.

I think its a little insulting but I get where you're coming from. The reality is JMM could be sittng here with only two losses. He's a lot better than good. I think he's a great. And he has the best long distance uppercut. LOL

You do realize that you can be 6'5" and not be a great QB right? Manning was used because he is big PLUS he has natural ability. You can be like Doug Flutie and not be big or a strong arm but still be a great QB.

The problem was comparing football to boxing which was a bad idea from the get go.

It's not really insulting, it's like calling someone a poor mans version of Michael Jordan, Finito was that great.

Floyd is just more elusive, allowing him more chancess to counter.

The comparison wasn't between football and boxing, it was a comparison between the intelligent guy vs. the athletic guy.

Your stance is that Mayweather was born with his success. He didn't put in the work to become greater than the field nor was he smart enough to get there without it. But somehow, the giftless Marquez with no natural ability is more impressive.

There's no question Floyd is a better counter puncher than Marquez however putting a lead left hook into an argument about counter punching is kinda ******...

I personally don't consider Mayweather a counterpuncher. He is a defensive specialist with athletic ability to do what he wants to do. Marquez is a pure counterpuncher in his prime and still a skilled counterpuncher even today.
