Cotto was deemed "the man", then Marg after he he him, then Shane after he beat Marg. This is another reason I've though Floyd should have fought Mosley before Pac. It would lead to a lineal championship if he beat Shane first. If Im not mistaken, to put a lineal title back together you need the majority of titles, not all.

the lineal title is not actully a title belt, it is figurative, signing the fighter who is the true champion at that weight.
It cannot be won in a vacant championship like some suggest, only by defeating the previous champion.

just because people say you are "the man" at a particular weight does not mean you have the lineal title. Sure people said Cotto was the best at that weight, but he didnt have the title. Also, PWill beat Marg, Marg beat Cotto and then Marg is the man? How does that work?
