Let me get this straight if you are the lineal champ. And, then the WBO, WBC, IBF, or WBA strips you cuz you don't want to fight there #1 contender. Are you not the lineal champ at all anymore even though you never lossed it. But, you don't have a major belt. Are you still the lineal champ?

The lineal championship can only be lost in the ring or upon retirement.

Who was No1 and 2 if Not Cotto and Marg in July 08?

Williams had moved up to 154.
SSM was still at 154
Floyd had retired.

Who else was in a position to claim No1 or 2?

yep you'll still have the lineage and the ring belt..

That is what I thought. But, according to Easy E you have to have a belt attached to it to be considered lineal belt. If you don't have a major belt you not a lineal champ. According to Easy E of course.

Because Williams then lost to Quinata and Marg just won 2 matches straight and won an IBF title just as Williams lost his. They then signed to fight ranked #1 and #2 before Williams spanked Quinata in the rematch.

The Ring Title isn't always the lineal champ.

No thats not accurate, Pac won seven titles because of his WBC international title and his IBO belt at 140.

All this past weekend when they showed the various titles he's won, they haven't listed those two. At least from what I've seen.

They showed all over ESPN News:

IBF Jr. Featherweight
Ring Featherweight
WBC Super Featherweight
WBC Lightweight
Ring Jr. Welterweight
WBO Welterweight

The IBO is considered a fringe sanctioning body, though it's becoming more prominent. The international titles aren't worth much at all.

Not true cuz The LHW and Flyweight ring belts are vacant. However, Both divisions have a lineal champion.
