That just the point. None of these fighters, (Cotto, Mosley or Marg) was ever deemed the man.
Floyd retired with the lineal WW title.

He beat Baldomir, a guy w/ 12 losses and avoided Tony, Sugar, and the rest.

god this is such BS. to be the no.1 in the packed WW division you need to do more than just beat the linear champ and do more than just say 'i beat the man so i am the man'.

imo mosley right now is the best WW because he has the best resume at WW ove the last few years, he has fought cotto and margarito when they were both in the top 3. he narrowly lost to cotto (i thought it was a draw) and dismantled margarito. that is what makes him the best WW.

It depends if there is a belt attached. Also if it is the actual lineal title. For example if Pac beat Mosley he would not be lineal champ, because Mosley was never really lineal champ.

In my opinion it is more important than alphabet titles. Also the lineal title can sometimes be attached to a belt the way it was at welter.
