This article is mostly right on, with the exception of Hagler vs Leonard for the two simple facts 1. Fans/writers/etc are about split 50/50 on who won and 2. Hagler didn't take any punishment.

Yes really should have been stopped. He got a lucky long-count in first Wilder fight too and had that unfair win against McDermott *and* was not penalised for pushing Whyte to the canvas with both hands *or* for hitting and holding Cunningham to stop him. And was not stopped with that cut against Wallin.

You can give a guy a few decisions in his favor but Fury gets them *every fight*

Fury has a belief problem - has only defended his title 4 times his whole career. That's fear right there. He is great at talking and making other people believe tho...

After spending so long believing that “middleweight” Oleksandr Usyk was no match for him, it’s not a surprise to hear Tyson Fury retain that viewpoint and claim he won a fight the rest of the world knows he lost.

I believe i had it 7-5 Usyk with extra point for the standing 8. I had it 4-2 Fury after 6 but then Usyk took control in my opinion. I think Fury got too comfortable & ****y after those couple of dominant rounds. He started showboating & was convinced he had the “midget” right where he wanted him.

Usyk made adjustments & took it up another level. I believe Fury thought he had the fight in the bag after the 6th & was not prepared for what happened in the 2nd half. I think the rematch will be very interesting. Fury will make adjustments & won’t be showboating when having good moments.

I think Usyk should be favoured due to his 2nd half adjustments but I refuse to count Fury out. When Fury had success he was going to the body. After the 6th I told the guy beside me at the bar that Fury needs to keep up the 2 punch combos to the body then grab & lean on him. Make the ref have to break them up. Slow Usyk down by leaning & tying him up. He never did this & it is what cost him the fight in my opinion.

Usyk is the best HW on planet for a reason. He made adjustments. His superior stamina & technical skills took over. I’m still convinced that if Fury would have slowed the fight down & leaned on him steady after the 6th round it could have been a different result. Fury got overconfident & had no answer for Usyk’s 2nd half surge. I look forward to the rematch.

When did Joshua join that club?

He gave a crazy rant, but half of it was about how good Usyk was.

Why do you lot think it was close?

Relax everyone and enjoy the fights. People who think Fury won (me included) should be fine with the outcome because it truly was close and I can sure see how someone could have scored that fight for Usyk as well.
    Good post.
The decision was razor thin, with the burst from Usyk that had Fury hurt briefly taking it over the line for him.

On the delusion of infallibility often seen in fighters; pedestrians slaving away for under 120k/yr. Won't understand. They don't need that.

Fury should always try win last round but he said he thought he was winning? Fury s too experienced to make errors like that.

no it is not " sad " it is annoying to keep hearing about it they keep trying to re-write history already people talk about it was close he had his moments if this or that on and on. Most people lie to convince themselves they are right, Fury has been at that for a long time now. He re-wrote what happened when he went on a binge of drugs and alcohol and called it mental illness, never responsible manufacturer manufacture with lies and make a buck off it. Truth is he acted like a bum and that was that. He lost a fight and that is what happened can never change that fact, so he pretends it never happened.
