I don‘t know what fight you guys were watching but from my perspective Hrgovic was kicking Dubois’ ass.

He hit him with some of the hardest right hand punches that I’ve ever seen. Hrgovic just punched himself out for his inability to put him away that’s all.

Boxing fans often like to question the size of Dubois’ balls. Well tonight they were the size of watermelons.

No that's not all. Hrogovic also took some serious career altering punishnent. He didn't just "punch himself out."

Plenty but that is because the Boxing HOF compared to baseball's or Football's HOF is like a local community college physics class compared to MIT. HOF just does not mean much... No disrespect to the accomplishment, but Gatti? Sylvester Stallone? The real mark of distinction imo is GOAT status... being short listed. And on that account? This era lacks severly.

Non athletes deserve a place, IMHO.

I had a similar thought... I had glimpses of Buster Douglas fighting Tyson. Apparently Buster was angry, mom had passed, nothing was important anymore. Dubois gave the stiff croat a look. it was THAT look Buster had that night. Sometimes if one is relaxed, and anticipates, a lot of the power goes away from an opponent's punch. The old axiom of the Taoist in the ox cart who survives the crash because he is drunk... It is interesting that physically Daniel held up as well... I mean he did get hit flush, this was not the head movement of Ali, you could hear the punches on the television.

Does not help that the stiff Croat telegraphs his shots. One could almost cream "move Dubois!" in the time it took him to take the shot head on.

HOF politics are a whole nother rabbit hole... Almost half the baseball players from the early days of the sports were in some way considered degenerates, criminals, sociopaths, and the rest... were just gamblers. Yet we have the saga of Pete Rose, a throwback to those days. Denied entry because his ******** tarnished the sport.

I don't know... I would think Fury and some of the others would get considered, but I don't know and as a principle of life and epistemology I feel these decisions always are affected by historical trends, yet unknown to us as the dialectic turns...What if the next heat is worse? Or so much better that indeed... there is a big hole for this time? I have virtually no way of knowing.

After the big right will come the big left hook. When Dubois leads with his head AJ will meet that with an upper cut. Hrgovic's jab was seldom better than a range finder, Joyce ruined Dubois with just a jab. Joshua's jab may not be on the same level that Wlad's was but it's still a better weapon than Joyce's

So many ways Dubois is vulnerable and AJ has a tool to exploit each of them. Hrgovic's tool bag had a straight right, and not much more.

Sure that seems like what will probably happen. But we know AJ. Ruiz did it, and granted, he was probably better than DD, but AJ does not like to get hit and can shell up. It has happened in the past. If it did happen it would be pure insanity on these boards: It would look like the prison break out scene in "Natural Born Killers" You could just hear the board of censors that own the site now: "Chief!!! the AJ fans have moved into the lounge! they are using Sarcasm! How do we censor it!?"
