Trinidad was not a weltetweight in this fight. He won belts at 147, 154 160. He was a middleweight champion who had just walked though and knocked out William Joppy. Exactly how I see it. Jones beat Ruiz but there are very few if any top 5 heavyweights I would favor Jones to beat. Especially a fighter like Douglas who was big, tall, with a quick and heavy left jab. I think Jones saw it that way too which is why he moved back down to 175.
