That isn't a thing anymore. Nobody recognized the Franchise title as legitimate so the WBC just quietly stopped handing them out....

The only chance Parker has against Usyk is if Usyk is just suddenly washed up like Pac in the Ugas fight, or Ugas in the Barrios fight.
I just think he's done more than Dubois to earn the shot. Especially considering Dubois already lost by KO on a jab to Usyk the first time around....

I'm sure that's the case, but soccer is popular globally while American football is only popular in North America. Basketball is becoming a global game, but it's still extremely lopsided towards Americans at this point in time. So the NFL and the NBA have an outsized effect on American heavyweight boxing...

It's happening this weekend with Canelo and Scull. But usually when a fighter gets stripped he doesn't bother going back to collect the missing belt.
But when someone unifies, we still consider that a single title reign.
When Ennis beat Stanionis, we didn't say he became a...Last edited by famicommander; Yesterday, 03:10 PM.

Not just great athletes, but those two leagues specifically are looking for great athletes over 200 pounds. You can be 165 pounds and excel in soccer or baseball or even hockey, but the vast majority of the talent in the NFL and NBA are well over 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. So they impact the heavyweight...

2X undisputed is pretty meaningless when he never actually lost any of the belts in the ring. He won all the belts, got stripped of one for dumb political reasons, and is now trying to win it back. It's still the same title reign.
It was a far more impressive feat to become undisputed in...

"controversy"
The only controversy is between people who know the rules of boxing and people who don't. The punch was obviously low. End of discussion.

All the great American heavyweights are in the NFL and the NBA. That's the reality of the situation. All of our best athletes are funneled into the most popular sports. Even Wilder ended up in boxing because he didn't have the grades for a college football or basketball career....Last edited by famicommander; Yesterday, 02:53 PM.

The Dubois rematch is the most unnecessary of all. Usyk won every second of their first fight and knocked him out on a jab. It doesn't get more definitive than that.

Hrgovic sucks, Joshua is washed, and Miller is years removed from his last win against anybody good....Bob likes this.

Nothing ever really happens at these events anyway but in this case you'd go out of your way not to push Usyk too hard. Usyk is the last dude in boxing you'd want to fight outside of the ring. He trains in Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sambo, freestyle wrestling, kickboxing, and even bare knuckle. All...Bob likes this.

Shishkin whooped his ass and Scull got a hometown decision in their fight. Even Shishkin is just a Euro level guy, but Scull is a straight up domestic level guy.eco1 likes this.

The fight would've been a split draw on the cards if the fake knockdown was not counted. If Parker had been given up to 5 minutes to recover it's an entirely different fight from that point on.
I was pretty down on Parker after the fight myself, and I also thought he looked pretty bad against...

He was winning the Whyte fight until a headbutt caused a knockdown that was incorrectly counted by the ref. Parker was forced to get up immediately and took two rounds to recover, so that effectively put him in a 4 point hole. But he did eventually recover, and he had Whyte on dream street at the final...BlackRobb likes this.

Who would even be favored to beat him?
Kabayel maybe, but he stands to inherit the WBC title if and when Usyk retires before fighting him so it's doubtful he'd take that.
Parker already has recent wins over Bakole, Chisora, Zhang, and Wilder. Joshua looks shot to pieces and...JakeTheBoxer likes this.
