It wasn’t really a destruction.
Hrgovic was getting the better during the first few rounds.
Dubois did well to take enough of most of the right hands because he was there to be tagged repeatedly.
Dubois was clearly the more conditioned of the two.
I was shocked to see Hrgovic looking wilted by the 5th round, and I’m curious why that was. Was the pace Dubois pushed more than Hrgovic was used to? Did Hrgovic put in the work during camp?
Dubois took over the last couple of rounds against a wilted Hrgovic.

Dubois showed determination, an improved engine, a very fast jab when he utilized it, that he is very open to right hands, and that he needs to be careful charging in with his head, one of those cuts was caused by a headbutt, and Dubois came in with his head several times.

Still, Dubois looked improved, though still very vulnerable, and Hrgovic looked like he needs to go home and have a think because he did not look conditioned, or at times that he wanted to win enough.

Dubois was really impressive yesterday. He came out like he was possessed. I'm liking Dubois more and more . I wouldn't mind seeing him against Parker, AJ , Fury ,or even in a rematch with Usyk. I picked him to beat Hrgovic , but not in the manner that he did it. He definitely found the dog in himself and it's apparently a Rottweiler.

The cut on Hrgovic was caused by a headbutt and not a punch, and was even acknowledged by
the announcer. Hrgovic being cut like that obviously turned the tide but up until that cut through
almost 2 rounds were complete, he was battering Dubois. This was a Dr stoppage and
not a real tko where the corner threw in the towel or the ref intervened, so Dubois needs to give
the Croation a rematch. Dubois' head bailed him out of about a 3 or 4 round stoppage loss.
Besides, nobody wants to see him getting beaten by Usyk again and AJ will knock him out. He
didn't legit stop Hrgovic and in a rematch, to where Filip takes Dubois a little more seriously,
DDD will get knocked out.

The Doctor stopped the fight as much because of the cuts as to save Hrgovic from a further battering. He was taking a beating and it was just getting worse for him. He likely wouldn't have survived the round on his feet. I didn't hear anyone suggest that either of the cuts was caused by a headbutt. It only looked like Hrgovic was getting the better of the early rounds , yeah, he was landing hard shots and more of them but more was being taken out of him than out of Dubois. Hrgovic was losing the war of attrition.

I preferred boxing when it was more wholesome family entertainment with rampant PED abuse, corrupt sanctioning bodies, corrupt judging, constant betting advertising, and organized crime involvement. Hrgovic tried to force a KO by repeating the 1-2 combo over and over and over and over again. It's shocking that it landed as much as it did but Dubois could see it coming and that helps take off the edge of the power punch. And when Hrg felt he was getting tired he tried to force the KO even more before he tires and that didn't work because he is so damn predicable.

Have you ever been in sparring when you have to work more than you want to because your opponent applies pressure? You don't even notice it until you're already tired. And being tired at round 3 in a 12 round fight is a nightmare to any fighter. Hrgovic has looked very lethargic in his fights that went past the halfway point. I think he fell in love with his power that obviously is not what he thought it was. There is no way that a real power puncher cannot make Dubois blink twice. False confidence in his own abilities has led him to neglect his technique, defence and most obviously endurance training.

He is not as strong as he thought and he doesn't have the skills to pay the bills. He's done at 31 years old before he ever even really tried to go for it. Which is what many people here have been saying since the Molina fight. Hrgovic is like Joyce minus the engine.

Valid point but I think the reason it hasn't raised many objections is because it was Hrgovic's lack of fitness that was the main cause. Hrgovic was a limp noodle at that point with neither offense nor defense. If it hadn't been stopped by the doctor, the fight wasn't going much further anyway.
