Thank you! As great as TR are, they are not flawless. They struggle in promoting certain fighters and to certain demographics. I guarantee you that Shakur will eventually leave. They have a track record with this but people are dying on their shield for promotional outfits. It's weird.

Very astute observation, I agree, the networks to this point havnt flexed their control as hey should have. Only dazn seemed to have realised that. If pbc goes to Amazon then I hope bezos’ people demand boxing get back to what it used to be in the 90s and before where big fights abounded. When Tyson and holyfield met both had losses on their record, both had been knocked out and stopped, and still the world stood still and watched..twice. And they were paid what they were written because of the demand. Every promoter/manger is going to have to sit down with their people and lay down the law about future paydays.
I agree. There was a bad precedent set where they were getting paid high level purses for low level fights. I think the next network will mandate they make certain fights in order to be allotted a certain budget or do it on a per fight basis, and hold the promotors and fighters liable contractually.
Networks haven't really flexed their power in this and have let the promotional companies run rampant.Comment

This is the fans time to shine, if a fight is made and you don’t like it, don’t support it. Only support those fights we all want to see, once they see that the money isn’t there then they’ll have no choice but to make the fights we, as the paying public, demand. SimpleComment

I don't have any idea what's you're defending. I was tracking those figures at the time they were published. Fighting low level opponents getting that kind of money should never happen. If you don't agree with that, I can't do anything about it.

I get it - but he has a promotional company and has signed young fighters. He stages events and people show up, he's turning some bucks in boxing. Who knows how this unfolds, but he is likely to play a role in the future imo. Not as a fighter. For example, the promotion and attention he garnered for Serrano-Taylor was great. There was no circus element to it, it was a legit promotion and success.Last edited by LA_2_Vegas; 10-18-2023, 03:56 PM.Comment

Just tell Jake Paul to buy Showtime and turn it into a 100% boxing channel. Done.
What else do we need solved?Comment

Bring back to super six tournaments on the most notable and stacked divisions, focus on new marketing st**** to reach new younger audiences and also work on the upcoming young talent itself, save the ppv for only fights actually worthy of ,promoters need to squash their beefs and try to work in pro of boxing not just themselves, they still on time to do so believe it or not. Boxing needs drastic changes across the board.Comment

No HBO killed their own business by trying to be the boxing home of east Europe. Paramount killed Showtime because they want to be more like Hbo and Netflix and less like Espn.Comment
