Now how about this, how responsible was said promotor in not maximizing his potential. Seems to have pretty well as soon as he left like DLH, Mayweather, Cotto, Pacquiao and so on.

It's true. If you look at the guys Crawford fought, Jean, Molina, Lundy, Dulorme, Beltran... He made $1 mil - $1.4 mil on each of these fights. While Thurman and Porter made their first $1 mil when they fought each other.

Just realized a lot of the posts in here are just bootlickers. How dare the fighters want to have more control over their livelihoods and speak out about it? Nuts lol

The boxers are going to have to stop demanding ludicrous purses for small to
medium fights, fight more often, and fighter bigger names. Losses must stop being equated with the end of a fighter’s career

One outlet in the USA pulls out of boxing and NSB collectively wails and throws a fit - forgetting that this is a global sport and the Saudis or Chinese or another iteration of DAZN can easily fill the supposed void.

This is a reset moment. The Saudis could easily set up WBSS-similar tournaments in every weight division if they wanted to and dictate payouts leaving boxers to participate or not - just like golf. Leaving promoters and belt orgs trailing in their wake.

I agree. There was a bad precedent set where they were getting paid high level purses for low level fights. I think the next network will mandate they make certain fights in order to be allotted a certain budget or do it on a per fight basis, and hold the promotors and fighters liable contractually.

Networks haven't really flexed their power in this and have let the promotional companies run rampant.

Top Rank don't care to promote anymore - look at the Janibek fight - they put it on in Rosenberg and even people actually IN Rosenberg didn't know there was a world championship fight on in their little backwater town where for sure there was nothing much better to do on a Saturday night.

That answered my question, how? The fight happened and a rematch is possibly on the horizon and you're still talking about a resigning with TR.

Whatever your feelings with Bud are, this isn't about one person, it's about the sport as a whole.
