HBO only did that because America's scene was crap post-Mayweather

Boxing needs a money mark, like Tony Khan.
Tony Khan's not doing so great himself, these days, you know

Rick Glaser says if Amazon picks up boxing they will only do pay-per-view. That will not help the sport in any way at all. It is not a problem to get a pay-per-view distributor boxing needs a home like HBO and Showtime were so you can have showcase flights. This sport is in very very serious trouble. Of course it won't go away all together but the ratings have been declining substantially. There needs to be a league like UFC

Brother. Sometimes we gotta swallow the truth serum. It failed. Almost a billion invested and each of those ten stations said no. That's f**cked up. Boxing gets no respect. But too often boxing doesn't respect itself. How can a sport succeed if it's not unified? Give me one example. It can only rise if you come together.

But Crawford was quick to check the promoter, saying any vision of the future of the sport would require fighters to be intimately involved in the business aspects.
“Respectfully oscardelahoya if the boxers aren’t at the table, it isn’t going to work,” Crawford responded.”

All hail the King! I like this new & improved Terence Crawford, the Undisputed WW Champion of the World!!! SALUTE!

The money vault is still there, just threw millions at Edge.

Well, I mean, his father's worth $30 billion, so that's always going to be there.

If you aint got that type of parentage, then you'd better be profitable.

The rest followed, lmao. I hope you didn’t Google your info. Look, I don’t like Arum at all, but he didn’t start anything. We all knew that when HBO left boxing, SHO was going to eventually. People watched other channels that showed boxing more than SHO recently. People think that ESPN fights and fights on DAZN are being watched more than SHO fights. The PBCs non competitive matches are why they don’t want anything to do with boxing anymore. They got sick of paying Haymon fighters who weren’t making super fights. I mean it could be a blessing, Somebody might want to watch that keep it “IN HOUSE” garbage again, lmao,

When Haymon tries to get a network to host his garbage fights, I hope that they ask him if there will be non in house fights being made with contenders outside of the PBC? He’ll name a few fights that crossed over, and they’ll ask why did it take so long to make Bud Spence? And he’ll blame Bud and they’ll say “foh, we heard Spence was always shook of Bud” lmao…

I don’t care for PBC anymore than I care for Top Rank but there are tons of meaningless garbage fights Arum made specifically to keep money IN HOUSE.
Arum was also behind the Floyd-Cotto fight not happening in 2005.
Lastly, Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Bud, Mikey Garcia etc ALL left Top Rank unhappy with the deals they were getting. In fact, Manny tried to leave for Golden Boy but stayed put after being threatened with a lawsuit.

The difference between Top Rank and PBC is that PBC pays way more than Top Rank.
How’s that for “googling” historical facts?
