They’ve overpaid their fighters and SHO was sick of not seeing big fights. ESPN has made the bigger more anticipated fights. SHO without Floyd has been trash and you know it. It took Spence years to finally come around to make a super ****en fight. Tank hasn’t fought anyone and I really can’t name anyone else outside of Wilder who has fought in a big PPC fight. People got tired of the PBC WW fights facade. SHO didn’t get the investment back that they made with the PBC and Haymon. The writing was on the wall.

They weren’t making the money that SHO wanted on the back end. SHO saw it as a waste and said goodbye to boxing. That’s the bottom line.

I’m actually not disagreeing with you at all. Corporate America will ALWAYS find ways to plunder and loot people but when the tables turn, they either change laws or file for bankruptcy or discard while divisions as Showtime and HBO have proven.
Boxers demanding more money is just like actors demanding backend profits or huge upfront payments. Only difference is lots of movies do flop and actors do not risk their lives.

That's exactly what networks should be able to do. Veto power built into future contracts is the way to go, disempower the promoters.

        Excerpts from that video:
"...Nelson (HBO exec) doesn't have that vision and I'm not gonna let him screw up our prospects by taking away from us what is our great strength and that's the ability to match-make. And if that means frequently not on HBO, that's too bad we'll find a way."

"Nelson has some ideas of who Crawford should fight and if he persists in his ideas and HBO continues to back him, then we'll take Crawford elsewhere. In other words, we are a company that prides ourselves in putting on fights and match-making and we're not gonna let somebody else come in and do what we do best. Now, HBO is paying us money that fights on HBO, so they have the right and obligation to reject any fight that we give them, but they're not gonna match-make for me."

Yea, that makes sense since they’re all going belly up. You can’t promote a client without a platform. Regular TV ended decades ago. There was a time when you could watch boxing on Friday nights and Saturdays for FREE, then HBO and showtime took over introducing us to great developing talents. Turning them into house hold names. That’s all gone ladies. Boxing is fooked. Fox sports don’t do it no more and ESPN is the only one left. Forget DAZN. It’s on its way out too. Sheeitiest cards ever.

Before Floyd fought Conor and Pac. no UFC fighter came close to what he was earning. And no the numbers don’t say that the UFC is the biggest sports promotion on the planet, sorry lmao…

Bobfather lost a lot of money on this fella. His Khan fight was a huge disaster.
Never budged for a paycut in the midst of covid. He's getting $1.2 mil for fighting bums
              his entire career.
So who has Ennis fought where you feel he is being left out? And left out of what? He’s fought bums his entire ****en career so far.

That's the problem....you can't promote new talent without an inexpensive network.
