Because it was a contracted rematch. Agreed before the first fight in the event it was needed. How is he renegotiating that? It was literally negotiated for the circumstances in which he would be holding the belts.
Do you know what a mandatory is?
Usyk was entitled to 25% for one fight. That's it. I'm guessing he got a bit more than 25% plus a rematch. If it wasn't a good offer he could have just taken the 25%. It was his choice.
Yes Usyk took the required 25% because he wasn't worth more. Then he took less than 50% as the unified heavyweight champion against a contender.
So how is a 70/30 and 50/50 rematch deal worse than what he got against AJ?
It was his choice to back out of negotiations against Fury because he didn't want the 50/50 split in the rematch.Comment

They still said it before the 70/30 split was even mentioned. They said it while they were still trying to set up the 50/50 deal in the middle east.Comment

See your problem is you read the final statement which is simply the conclusion to my comment. You either can't read or you're deliberately ignoring the facts above the statement you're focusing on.
Maybe if you read the actual articles instead of just the headlines you wouldn't be a reactionary person and get salty when someone points out the actual information.Comment

Even if Andy Ruiz had beaten Joshua in the rematch, he wouldn't be as popular as Joshua is.Comment
