True Story! His dad cooked his dog and they ate it.

    True story.

Fact of the matter is Floyd wanted the big money fight years ago, Shane's dad said they would fight Floyd but for ,if I remember correctly, 10 million dollars, that wasnt going to happen.
I was replying to a post where it was said that Floyd was willing to skip 2 weight-classes to fight Shane. Which my respond was. If that was the case why didn't he just do it? Whats wrong with my question?

Does Floyd get more money for fighting Shane now or back then? Is the fight bigger now or back then?

If he fights Floyd before Oscar and beats him. There is no woBut again that fight was in July 2006. The Oscar fight was pretty much set up already. Shane says next year. Meaning he already knows Floyd beats Oscar and they can get it on after.rld awaits. There is no big money fight for Oscar. Could it be that Shane stepped aside not cuz he is scared but to led Oscar the boss have multimillion dollar fight? And, then fight Floyd after Floyd beat Oscar? I think so since right after the Oscar fight. Shane called out Floyd again you do not want to mention that right? And, Floyd retired he had nothing left to prove. But, then came out of retirement to fight Hatton. Not Shane.
Do you not get Floyd makes big money fighting anyone. Even if I go with you on the DLH fight was already set; where was SSM asking for a fight after Floyd beat DLH? Post a link where Shane called out Floyd AFTER the DLH fight.

Actually you're pathethic cuz you don't answer the question. You learned a lot from Floyd. With all this dodging that you are doing. I will ask it one more time. If you don't answer it than I am done with you.

That was then and this is now. And right now Shane is the number one welterweight in the world.
Shane is at the bottom of the food chain. If Shane was really the man at 147 he wouldn't have to beg for fights.[/QUOTE]

This has happened all throughout boxing history, guys who's popularity or what not prevented them from getting the biggest fights. Sonny Liston being a perfect example. He should have gotten a shot at Patterson in 1958 but was forced to wait do to popularity issues.
Don't believe for a second Shane isn't looking for the biggest money fights. He is willing to TRY to make 140 just to get a fight with PAC. When Berto and Clottey are willing to fight him right now. Him and Bernard have something in common; they over state their worth.

Of course he is trying to get the biggest money fight at this stage of his career. That doesn't change the fact he he the number one welterweight though.

              • I won't say that floyd isn't draw. Floyd is a draw since people would love to see him being defeated. As long as Floyd still have the 0 losses then Floyd will be a big draw..

That's a close ended question. The answer is yes he would get more money now. But wouldn't he make MORE money fighting the PAC/Cotto winner than Mosley right now? Since he is having money problems why wouldn't his next fight be for the biggest purse?

Shane was number one WW then too but he didn't want it.

So since he is at the end of his career after squandering his money making ability; Floyd is suppose to look past a bigger money fight in the PAC Cotto winner to help SSM out?

If you haven't noticed by now PAC and Mayweather bring the big money fights and they neither one cares about SSM being the #1 welterweight.
