Canelo Alvarez vs James Toney

I favor Toney cuz he was more skilled, a better counter puncher, with an iron chin.
Only problem is like I said implied Toney had bad training habits, but I assume he would get in great shape being matched with someone like Canelo.
What else you want me to say that's my opinion bro
why don't you explain why you think Canelo would win instead of nit picking my opinion lol

Bivol completely washes Canelo but ends up with 115-113 cards which a simple slip would have turned the fight into a draw. Do we need to continue to go back and forth on this Canelo nonsense? Canelo beats a prime Roy Jones if he can get on the inside and his slow feet can adapt to Jones' speed.

I asked you a simple question mate.

You said if the “ready for war” Toney turns up he wins.
How does that version of Toney differ to the not “ready for war” Toney?
It’s not a difficult or trick question.

If Toney is in shape then ClenRoid gets retired. Look at both resumes what more do you want ?
What has Roid ever done to place him above Toney ? His (barely) wins vs Lara ? Austin Trout ? Roid is a weightbully and a (scared) steroid abuser that is only picking cherry's. Tell me Clenroid best win ?
Short fat ginger is getting worked in this match up. From the inside, from the outside, however Toney wants it. Aint no slow footed plodder doing shyte to prime James. Levels... It is evident that you don't believe it yourself since you compare the 12-0 shutout Clen received from Bivol (and quit after R2) compares to RJJ - Toney. You bring up prime RJJ loss and compare it to the Bivol loss. You cannot compare RJJ and Bivol, not in the same sentence.

How do these injection marks get there ? It aint photoshop since it is caught on video in the official ClenRoid - GGG weigh in, the moment he does some shadowboxing on the scales.
How much is Edward Hearn paying you ?Last edited by Haka; 06-21-2022, 08:12 AM.Comment

Clen only wants a real fight if he outweighs his cherrypicked opponents. He could have chosen to go to war with Bivol and risk it all, yet he folded after round 2 and was from that moment on thinking about the Check $$$$ and saving face. FRAUDnelo.
Toney is the anomaly in boxing history, the defensive master, with one of the best chins of all time.
So even if you to hit him, and you did was sign yourself up for a worse beating. The fact that Toney was able to be as successful as he was coming in so frequently in such objectively terrible condition is quite remarkable.
Canelo wouldn't have a chance. Canelo would be out slicked, in a boxing match, and Toney has more dog in him if Canelo wanted to make it a fight.Last edited by Haka; 06-21-2022, 08:20 AM.Comment

Obviously Toney's peak is way above Canelo's. You also have to factor that Toney is naturally bigger guy and even worst version of Toney would not be bullied by Canelo. On the other hand Toney FREQUENTLY came underprepared and on such night Canelo would win a lopsided decision. Bringing that Canelo had no answers against Bivol does not prove a lot. Bivol himself may end up as a part of this conversation as generational talent. His sense of distance is great and this would allow him to dominate fighters who are not light on their feet. I don't think that Toney would fare much better than Canelo against Bivol - very bad style matchup for either of them.Comment

I think Canelo could win on activity.
Sort of the way Oscar beat Whitaker.
EDIT**
Mind you, before anyone gets crazy about my post. Whitaker did absolutely everything you could to win that fight and still lost due to the "perception" of one guy being more active (meaningful offense) than the other.Last edited by F l i c k e r; 06-21-2022, 01:15 PM.Comment

This fight is definitely more complicated than you'd think. Toney you would think could outbox him because it seems like Canelo struggles with quicker more defensive fighters. But Toney loves to make things harder then they should be. Gun to my head probably Canelo because he seems to have more judge love and seems more well rounded. Might just outwork him.Comment

I even when toney come in out of shape, he never came unprepared or lazy against quality opponents. The prime example is Toney vs Jirov. Toney was clearly out of shape, against a monstrously talented opponents, in olympic gold medalist and val barker award winner as best boxer at the olympics, Vassily Jirov.Obviously Toney's peak is way above Canelo's. Toney came in out of shape, but mentally prepared to go to war, and took Jirov apart round by round. It really highlighted his intelligence that he could expend the absolute minimum amount of energy needed to win that fight, even thought it was a dog fight.Comment
