Also, did you not see the Roy Jones fight?

If you want to see the literal epitome of a fighter looking totally clueless in a boxing match then that's James Toney when he fought Roy Jones.

Didn't look much better for the first 6 rounds of the Reggie Johnson fight either to be honest.

You're talking about "eye tests" and citing Canelo's fights.

Remind me, when did Canelo lose to an unranked scrub in his prime like when Toney lost to Dave Tiberi?

    Consistency is key here.

I'm just a Toney fan. Canelo's way of fighting does not do much to me, it is mostly based on size advantage and cherry picking opponents.

        Right......

That's kind of irrelevant thought isn't it to the actual question and the point's you've tried to make.

He knocked Nunn out and Johnson was a game opponent. Neither were easy fights. Canelo didn’t look too good in his fights with Floyd, GGG, Bivol, Lara, Trout.

He knocked him out after being dominated for the entire fight.

Johnson was a top opponent but he arguably lost, he was dropped and totally outboxed for long stretches of the fight.

It's just weird you'd cite two examples of fights where he looked terrible for the majority of both of them.

And which version is that exactly? How does it differ to "Not ready for War" Toney?

He looked good against very good opponents. Unlike Canelo who looked like shyt against half dozen of them.

                  Oh yeah? Such as who?

Toney looked garbage against garbage opponents, let alone good ones.

Watch it again, it was all Toney from round 3 and on, Nunn had nothing but a jab that mostly missed.

                      Oh yeah, good one.

Toney was miles behind on all 3 scorecards, rightfully so as he was totally outboxed for the entire fight.

One judge having it 9-1, the closest being 7-3, which, was generous to say the least.

If you think Toney looked good against Micheal Nunn you live in a dream world. He looked absolutely terrible.

                      Same against Johnson.
