I know boxing's fans are the dumbest of all sport (save for the mma) but is it that really hard to undersand the concept for all that as long as beltholder remains in according weight class his Franchise belt is transferable and is The Real WBC belt. While as soon as beltholder moves from that weight for good his belt and champion are not The Real anymore and status is downgraded to "Eternal/In recess/Diamond Champion" sort of status.

This would be like the WBA suddenly deciding it's the other way around and recognising the Regular championship rather than the Super because they don't like how the division is panning out.
The WBC have a champion. It's Devin Haney.
Quick question, is Canelo still Franchise Middleweight Champion?Last edited by Toffee; 12-04-2021, 07:55 AM.Comment

You'd be crazy to question it, grasp it, or fail to take it seriously, right?Last edited by Chrismart; 12-04-2021, 09:14 AM.Comment

You don't get to invent your own definition of undisputed champion. Every recognized boxing organization agrees that Kambosos is the world champion, therefore he is the undisputed world champion. The WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO all agree he is the champion. There is no dispute. Haney's belt is the same as Tank's belt, a second tier title.
It was created so that Canelo, and following that Loma, didn't have to face their mandatories.
They dropped the actual world titles to took on this 'show title' to represent the WBC, in whatever division they chose to fight.
It is not linked to a division. Canelo is Franchise champion if he fights at Cruiser, SMW, featherweight. Doesn't matter. It's his mantle piece belt.
This is worth watching (from around 2min22):

Yeah, nothing confusing or ridiculous about it at all. A totally 'straight forward', 'non-improvised', played by ear set of regulations that completely differ from those they themselves originally set out; that can lead to champs being demoted and reinstated regularly if the situation need be regardless of any time frame.
You'd be crazy to question it, grasp it, or fail to take it seriously, right?
You finish with the analysis how politicians/officials usually aren't that straightforward in their business and hide their true intentions of their actions. REAL EYE OPENER!
Lookaround. EVERYONE questions... legacy of Haney's belt. We know Haney is email chump or 2ndary champ, it's just you and few more haters who play like they doesn't.
Canelo's belt is not transferable anymore and he is not World Champion of that weight class. Loma's belt was transferable and he DID NOT AVOID any mandatory, FFS. Haney wasn't even a mandatory when Loma got that vacant WBC belt and wouldn't be assigned FOR THREE YEARS after that!Last edited by Ajvar; 12-04-2021, 12:27 PM.Comment

Nobody is dis*****g that the Franchise title is ranked higher than the WBC World champion, in the WBC world rankings. And that Kambosos is indeed the proud owner of that belt. But the dispute is that, that belt is not the world title. Therefore it's not part of the undisputed world chiompionship.Comment

It absolutely is the same.

First off, I'm not an Aussie, Im pretty much as far as u can get from Australia, and secondly, I never said he was the best thing since sliced bread, I just called out your total lack of respect for a fighter who just embarrassed your boy, and the whole tone of your posts just come across as massively butthurt, and at no point did I compare him to srr, suck it up champ, you're embarrassing yourselfComment
