And once a guy is hurt, it's a slop festival.
So when someone turns up at a boxing gym they test their chin and go "nah its ****, go to MMA" or vice versa someone going to an MMA gym? like how the **** does that make sense compared to the gloves and rules simply leading to a much higher chance of being hurt? not to mention the kicks and knees are more impactful than any boxing punches too.

ts a lot harder to see a punch coming when you're also thinking about defending kicks and takedowns. And even if you see it you have tiny gloves that you cant effectively block with, and getting too slick with the head movement can get you baited onto a head kick or knee.

Dudes get absolutely wiped the **** out in MMA compared to boxing usually. A lot of boxing finishes are the ref just waving the fight off because its not deemed competitive anymore while the guy is standing up and protesting. You dont see anywhere near as many clean, satisfying, dramatic finishes.

It's all offense. That's the selling point.

One telegraphed punch and the fight is usually over.
If not, then it time to roll around on the mat and wait for the tap.

      Just my experience.

I'll stick with boxing until it's finally dead.

Not at all. You're just looking at it from too much of a boxing-centric perspective.

We're on the same side here lmao. You love it when the opposite side proves their point, ok, but like you thought I was on the other side of the street when I was right here on the same side the whole time lmao. You people REALLY need to start reading and being conscious of who you're replying to.

Dude thought he was fighting with someone he literally wasn't. Got to love it when someone thinks you're arguing with them when they aren't. I don't know what drugs you're doing my man, but get your life together. You literally just clowned yourself.
Did you not argue/defend that UFC has big purses and their fighters make a lot of money? I don't get it. They don't... You were the one who posted that correct? Then I replied and showed that one boxer has made more money than all of those big purses over the years combined in one night.

I watched a UFC not that long ago, horrible horrible card. So boring!
Go back and see the replies to that post and how it turned into my talking about how McMuffin is the face of UFC.

There's room for all of them to exist. It's just sad BS when an MMA/UFC fan comes to a boxing site to say how dead boxing is and how their sport is taking over.

To that I say ''That's nice.''

Yep, there is absolutely room for both. Boxing is obviously not going to "die". Theres still plenty of money in it, it still has a sizeable talent pool, its still in the olympics and its still entrenched to varying degress across multiple different nations that have a history with it. Theres always going to be fights every now and then that cross over in to the mainstream too.

I dont think theres anything wrong with discussing the relative merits of both sports though, or acknowledging the direction things have been going in terms of growth/popularity, especially in a containment thread like this one. You can still be a boxing fan and do that.

I just find it very annoying with them coming here and spewing nonsense.
If they love their sport, they shouldn't waste time telling us how dead our sport is.

It goes both ways though. You see plenty of boxing threads on Sherdog. There was a thread after last weekends fight with a title like "Does Ngannous win prove that any heavyweight boxer could dominate MMA?" lol.

Not even the same as ''boxing is dead and UFC/MMA is taking over''

Fans of a sport should stop the nonsense and enjoy their sport
