  • You are being pretty naive imo. This aint the 90s. It can and does do exactly that. Conor McGregor has like 5 PPV fights that have done more buys than any of Canelos fights, and his fight with Floyd did like twice the buys that Canelo/Floyd did. Hes the biggest star in combat sports in a post Floyd/Pac...

  • Yeah the UFC does have a starpower issue currently for sure. They havent found a prime active star to replace Conor, Jones etc who they can rely on to fight 2-3 times a year and do big numbers vs just about anybody....

  • Dont think they'd actually move dates but it'd take Conor or a big Jon Jones fight for them to have a chance to outdraw those fights head to head imo.

Canelo/Berlanga though? honestly I feel like a Pereira fight would probably outdraw that at this point....

  • That UFC card sure as **** isnt moving. Its going to be the first ever combat sport event at The Sphere. Historic.

Do you not remember when Canelo sat in his locker room for an extra hour while a UFC card was literally played on the big screens in the arena so his own crowd could watch...

  • Really underwhelming fight tbh. Even with the Mexico/Puerto Rico angle it probably wont do well. Its going head to head with a UFC PPV at The Sphere too.

  • I doubt Fury, Usyk, AJ, Jones are in their primes anymore. They just havent declined to a point where they're visibly falling apart yet. In how many other sports would you be considered in your prime in your mid/late 30s? ****ing snooker?

It also depends a ton of the type of fighter. Fedor...

  • They havent announced any of the bigger fights for that UFC yet, but it wouldnt take much to really hurt Canelo/Berlanga tbh. Its got the gimmick of being at the sphere too.

  • Its a great fight. Bakole is a serious test. If Jared wins in convincing fashion we will know for sure hes the real deal.

  • 34 isnt prime usually, people tend to start declining around that time. Also its not just about age, its also mileage. He'd had a ton of fights and he took damage in plenty of them. Getting dropped on his head vs Randleman etc.

How the **** am I sucking his pole by saying he has a greater...

  • How was he in his prime? he was 30+ fights into his career and 5+ years removed from his most defining fights. People had been questioning if he was in decline already from the Arlovski and Rogers performances too.

Werdum lost in Pride to Big Nog, who Fedor beat twice. He also lost in...

  • Like I said a few posts back i'd have him third all time.

Going 10 years and 30+ fights undefeated is pretty ****ing impressive. Even more so when you take into account that he was a pretty small HW and its MMA where its so easy for someone to throw a Hail Mary and score an upset.

  • That 40 year old MW is like top 15 all time p4p tbf.

Its true a lot of those Pride guys seemed to decline overnight in other orgs. Although in Fedors case he did have 30+ fights of mileage to take into consideration as well....

  • Obviously Poatan isnt going to be able to handle Zhang, but no ****ing way is Jake serious about that fight. Poatan is like 230lbs and has KO'd people stiff repeatedly even with boxing gloves. His left hook is lethal. Jakes head would be taken off his shoulders most likely in the first round, definitely...

  • Hes my favourite of the GOAT contenders but i'd have him third behind Jones and GSP personally. I can see a case for Anderson and maybe Aldo being ahead too.

Jones is a total POS but fighting at UFC level since 2008 and never being KO'd or submitted and rarely ever being in a close fight...

  • Joes wins over Parker and Dubois were very impressive and have aged well.

As for Del Boy, obviously hes had quite a few close fights not go his way with the judges. Personally I think he should have wins over Parker, Whyte and Helenius on his record. Hes fairly limited and was never truly...

  • Canelos choices of opponents recently are really disappointing. I feel like his drawing power is going to start to suffer soon if he carries on with these underwhelming fights.

  • Well you'd hope Zhang got the better of things considering he is a 275lb top 10 level HW boxer. Stylistically he'd have a good shot at beating Poatan in kickboxing or MMA too tbh.

I am a big fan but Poatan sure as **** isnt the MMA GOAT either. He isnt top 20 yet. His grappling is probably...

  • If only. I doubt it though. Hes still got a bunch of guys who meet his usual criteria (smaller, older washed up big names from MMA) left who he could fight and beat - Jorge, Conor, Poirier, Chandler, Gaethje etc. He will probably start having MMA fights within the next 2 years as well to keep things...
