Skillwise, Floyd is better. But Pac has fought and beat the better fighters in my opinion. He's already fighter of the decade. If Floyd decides to come back and pick and win a fight that isn't all about money it could change. As it stands I ranks Pac slightly higher.

      but why stop at Cotto?

If he beats Mosley, Margarito, Berto and Victor Ortiz from Jan 2010 to Dec 2011 then

He's number 1 fighter of all time in front of Robinson, Ali and Armstrong
The reason why, is because Pac will retire this year.

Yeah I agree. Dont count chicks that are still inside their egg shell.

belts at 112,122,126,130,135,140 and beating a former 147 #1p4p champ? plus beating 6 HOFers in his career? duran's place in the top atg is in danger.
          That's a lot of titles.

He is in a press conference announcing his retirement.

With this scenario, in your opinion, is he the Fighter of the Decade?
Yes, but it will never happen.

Robinson was a welterweight fighting and beating an all time great middleweight in Jake Lamotta. In fact, only one of their fights was at 160 pounds for both. And Lmaotta was a big middleweight. One fight Robinson weighed only 144 pounds. So if Manny want's to surpass Robinson he can start by fighting top jr middlweights while fighting at 140 pounds.

Manny was also outboxed by a past his prime Eric Morales. Something no one wants to talk about anymore. And Morales was completely washed up the other two times they fought. No one can seriously count those as big wins. Barrera was also past his prime and that can't be ignored. He certainly wasn't better than Jose Luis Castillo or Diego Corrales when Mayweather fought them. His win over JMM is also questionable and not a defining win IMO. The Hatton fight is his toughest fight yet IMO. I also think people are sleeping on Hatton as if this is a sure thing for Pacquiao. There might be some very surprised and disappointed fans here. Throw out the weight drained 35year old Delahoya. Either way, I rank Mayweather higher because he is unbeaten and has been more dominant in his fights.

srr wasn't out of place fighting lamotta. srr was 5'11 for chrissake, same height as margo who most ppl here thinks he should be fighting one division higher. and lamotta was a short blownup middleweight at 5'8 only. not taking anything from srr, he's my #1atg, but when he first beat lamotta at 160, jake was a green 20yr old, same as he. he would fight him again 3 times later in his career but srr too have to move up in weight as do all others late in their careers.
