I don't know if fighter of the century is really an attainable goal for Pacquiao. But in order to be fighter of this decade he'd obviously need to win his fight with Hatton. Beyond that a win over Mayweather would seal the deal. But he might get it just with a win over Hatton.

He can have a greater accomplishment but there's no exact answer for GOAT; those are separate things sort of how Monzon could say he was better as a Middleweight champion than Robinson but not neccesarily a better Middleweight. Besides, your hypothetical is ******ed. manny wouldn't fight paul Williams ever. Might as well ask what if Manny beat Wlad.

That's a ridiculously huge if. I doubt he even fights all of those guys much less beats them all. You have to keep in mind though that Ray Robinson was 131-2 having fought the best competition from 135-160 when he moved up to 175 and lost to Joey Maxim in a fight he was ahead on the scorecards. Then he went on to beat the likes of Carmen Basilio, Gene Fulmer, Bobo Olsen, Rocky Castellani. I mean that's after he was on the downside. I know there's an emphasis today on finding the newest greatest of all-time, but I don't know that anyone can really surpass Sugar Ray Robinson.

LOL... Manny/Wlad is too much in the equation...

how's my hypothetical equation ******ed? manny not fighting williams ever? not even deserve to be discussed by boxing analyst here on BS? LOL

remember, 4-5 years ago nobody thought of Pac fighting at 135lbs, 140lbs much more at 147lbs...just to point it out that nothing is impossible...plus PAcman fights anyone, anywhere, anytime now if the price is right..

Nope. Never. Ever. I know never is God's favorite joke and all but I'll stick with it. IFFFF it happened, I already have a tape of Hearns-Duran to know what happens. The wlad comparison is equally absurd so it fits. Williams is moving to Middle to fight Wright and I'd bet against him ever even fighting at 47 again.

Define "nobody." I've been saying for years that Pacquiao belongs at 140 because he used to weigh in at 130 and then come into the fight weighing in the mid to high 140s. He didn't weight but 1 lb more for the DLH fight than he did for the Marquez rematch.

But Paul Williams is a 154/160 lber now. I really doubt Pacquiao fights him and if he did fight him he'd lose. But back to the larger question...he probably still couldn't surpass Ray Robinson even in your fantasy scenario.

If he were to get past Hatton and beat Mayweather he is easily the fighter of the decade. Right now Mayweather is the fighter of decade and if they met up in a fight that would determine the best of this era. Now if he beat Cotto on top of that it would probably put Pac on the list of the top 15 greatest boxers of all time.

Or everyone have decided that Robinson's accomplishhment is unsurpassable?

manny's for sure is inside the top 30atg already. hell if ppl are comparing him to armstrong who is in the top5 then he couldnt be 30 places down. if he beats hatton and mayweather for sure he's in the top 5. he doesnt need cotto to get there.

belts at 112,122,126,130,135,140 and beating a former 147 #1p4p champ? plus beating 6 HOFers in his career? duran's place in the top atg is in danger.
