It's a little sad but I let it ride. What I find most ridiculous about BS aside from spending all his time ranting about another man, he also claims to know all Calzaghe fans are just imbeciles, and I have an inherent hate for know it all generalising arrogance like that, because it's clearly untrue.

For eg, if Calzaghe was not 'deserving' of a fight in Roy's so called prime, then how comes Richard Hall got a shot? Did he deserve a shot over Joe? That is but one example.

Enemy/Friend - I didn't call you one single name pal, but I did point out some very dubious comments on your part, such as that of Tarver deserving a fight more partially because he was American, and not really listing anything as to why Calzaghe did or didn't deserve a fight. Using Tarver a guy whom did work hard for it, is hardly a fair benchmark considering you can also pick someone from the bottom of the list like I have. Landing fights in any given climate is more complex then that anyway.

I think Joe was deserving and would've been a great win for Roy back then over a couple of other opponents he did face. Joe has clearly and would've anyway become, a better fighter and name than Richard Hall, Otis Grant, Derek Harmon, or even Clinton Woods. Now we can play this game all day both guys have fought their fair share of considerably lesser opponents at times each other would have been a bigger and better fight, but that isn't always recognised, possible or done at the time, otherwise it'd be an ideal world. I think both guys would accept this now infact I'm sure they've said as much. They've both said they wanted eachother for years. I'm not going to enter into other stuff said, at the end of the day Joe himself has actually said this more emphatically and more often then anything to the slight contrary. Roy didn't take it up, and instead did some of the lesser names I've mentioned. Joe deserved a considerably smaller pot sure, but he deserved a shot as much as those guys, and clearly a lot more.

If this thread is about Roy's prime...then the answer is...who really wanted to see this fight back then? ****, Joe Calzaghe didn't even want to see this fight back then LMAO.

Please. Calzaghe wasn't a factor then. At all. And he damn sure wasn't trying to get a fight with Roy, regardless of what he says today.

That'd be like pulling out Flawless and using him as an example of all Floyd Mayweather fans!

All fighters have "extreme" fans. We should ignore them.

In Roys prime, especially at SMW... Joe was ranked like 8th in the division, Toney was #1... and that's who Roy fought... case closed.

When roy was pretty much washed up, the roles were reversed.. and thats when they did fight.

Theres really nothing else to discuss about it.. thats what happened.

I never said that or get into it much. The fight wasn't there for the taking, and frankly that's quite naive. Joe couldn't get to MW, when he was at SMW Joe had just got his belt and Roy left SMW pretty quick, HW, LHW it just never came off. Joe wanted the fight quite a bit, more so than Roy. He called him out a few times which I sense you don't know too much of. As for doing loads more, then I'm sorry this is a sport and I'm not one for believing you have to risk your career, fly abroad, leave your family, fight several bums for lower cash over a year in some guys back yard, on a whim of getting a shot for another low cut. Make the fight or don't. He called him out a lot and it just didn't happen.

"I spent five or six years chasing Jones and he acted like he never even knew my name," said Calzaghe. "Suddenly, I beat Hopkins in Vegas and Jones wants to be my neighbor - it's ridiculous. If a fight with Jones made sense from a cash point of view, then it could happen, but he is notorious for asking for too much money."

Jones says that he viewed Calzaghe as a possible opponent several years ago, but at the time he saw no reason to travel to Wales to chase the fight. Now that Calzaghe is the bigger star, Jones is willing to make the fight anywhere.

“I saw Joe as a potential opponent a long time ago,” Jones said. “But I had my eyes on higher things, such as winning the heavyweight title, so it was nothing against Joe, I love everything about him. He’s a fun guy, an entertaining guy, a good person. We took some pictures together with his sons after the fight on Saturday and we’ve talked on the phone. But boxing is business. When I was the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world it wouldn’t have been smart for me to go and fight Joe.

"I am the best super-middleweight in the world and I am out to prove that I am the best fighter on the planet. If Jones disagrees, lets get it on," he said.

"Jones is supposed to be the best fighter in the world at the moment. A showdown between us has got to happen to prove who is the best."

"Roy says he has difficulty in finding opponents but he has Joe Calzaghe - the best fighter in the division - waiting to fight him and ready to put his title on the line.

"I am close to making the fight happen and when it does we will see who is the best in the world," said Warren.

For every one of those quotes i can pull up ten more that refute them.

What you can't refute are facts.

Calzaghe's attempts to make a fight with Jones included what exactly? Besides lip service?

Did he move to 175? Did he ever fight a LHW contender? Did he fight in the US? Fight Jones leftovers? ANYTHING?

                NO.

                End of story.

He also left out a quote...

”You don’t go to somebody else when you’re the best, they must come to you, so I wouldn’t take the risk, and why would I? Why would I meet that challenge when I’m already the best? Why would I go to your country and give you a chance to allow the powers that be to take a close decision and give it to you?"

Trolls have been trolling for a long time acting like this. They deserve it right back.

If I recall Kris' first series of posts at me were paranoid ramblings about me hacking the page to increase my karma bar. he couldn't understand why I was in the green and called me a troll. I was of course not talking to him but calling Ricky out on being a douchebag. Why anyone would ever ever defend Ricky is beyond me.

You shouldn't be so bull-headed man. You can't just say "end of story" without knowing all the details involved, it isn't as simple as that. There's a ****load of politics involved in this business, nothing is ever cut and dried/black and white like you're seeing it.
