Still, there was a good number of posts on here (and other boards) which claimed Roy was gonna KO Calzaghe. A fair few people were convinced. It doesn't matter though -- it was Roy who was pushing for the fight and had been working on getting himself into a position where he did enough to deserve a major fight. It's not like Evil Mr. Slappy walked into an old people's home and started randomly beating up pensioners! And why shouldn't he have taken up Roy's offer? It was a massive payday. How many fighters would have refused a shot at Jones? Financially, it all worked out nicely for all involved. Good business.

The fact is, Joe signed for a fight with Hopkins in 02 but Hops pulled out, and he did fight in more countries then either of the two put together.

Hopkins rejected this fight as he had to fight in Wales and was getting a small fight purse. Any fighter would have done the same.

In 2002, Hopkins was one of the p4p best... Why would he come to Wales to fight Calzaghe? Calzaghe should have gone to America.

Now were onto exaggerating the extent of Roy being past prime to the point you'd think he had one leg.

He wasn't that huge an under dog, and Joe had just taken on the #1 in the division 6 months earlier, at a new weight, in Hopkins back yard, mostly American judges and the environment not suiting him.

A lot of people gave Roy a reasonable shot at Joe. So it was a risk. You ranting on all day about how he had literally zero chance to make Roy look better and Joe worse, is not going to change that. But your trying very hard, to make Roy look like God and Joe the devil. That ironically shows the level of your bias, yet here fans of Roy himself can find more open objectiveness deserving 10x the credit.

BS and IMDAZED, I'm sorry but your undoubtedly the two most arrogant, argumentative, stubborn minded people on these boards. I don't wish ill of you, it just gets a little tiresome.

Yeah seems to be a ****ing lot of them for Joe aren't there. maybe you haven't been around for the last oh 2 years and witnessed the trolling and spam.

And Flawless is an idiot. I call him out constantly even while like Floyd myself.

I see very few Joe fans attacking these trolls and in fact even agreeing with them and defending them.

            Kris,

            Try to be logical, ok?

I don't care if Calzaghe wanted to fight Jones or not. He didn't. Let their records stand.

I also don't care if he fought in 15 more countries than them. He didn't fight better opposition. DONE.

Great business. That's what it was. Unfortunately, we're talking legacy here.

Roy got the better end of the deal. The fight purse was 50/50... which really doesnt make much sense as it should have been 70/30 for Calzaghe, seeing Calzaghe was one of boxings biggest draws at the time. Roy benefited financially more than Calzaghe did.

Now? I've been saying he was shot shot shot dead for about oh 5 years now.

But hey, twist it to now.

I'm sorry that I'm "arrogant" to you online when I keep posting pesky facts with my arguments only to be responded by trolling OR in your case vague defenses of Joe by saying "we don't know the whole story". Okay, I guess we can never know any total story then can we? Or we can examine what Joe DID to get these big fights (nothing) or we can go with what he said (all talk).

Your choice: talk or action. You can defend whichever you want. I'm going with action.

Then why do you keep responding? Is it because you love me so much? Or you love Calzaghe so much? Cuz I damn sure don't see you debating any other topics in any other threads.

Remember the ****** logic 101 thread? I guess some people didn't take a look as they are bringing up fight predictions.
