I think Calzaghe would look great against Johnson, he's not the same as Bika or Reid, he's much more attacking. Calzaghe would sidestep and counterattack him all night.

I don't think Roy's chances are that slim. Calzaghe doesn't fight as well as he did when he was younger in his prime.

        yeah okay

unless you have'nt noticed Johnson has a pretty good right hook against Southpaws Joe would have more trouble than Dawson at keeping Johnson at bay because Dawson is 6′ 3″ and has a better jab than Calzaghe and Calzaghe has a fighters mentality when he gets hit

Johnson would make it harder for Joe

Jones is going to win this fight, for several reasons.

          - Calzaghe is half-shot because of past hand injuries. He can't even punch hard anymore, so he can't win by KO.
          - Jones has the New York area judges on his side, so Joe can't win a decision in a fairly close fight. If Julie Lederman is a judge, she'll score every round for Jones, wait and see.
          - Calzaghe is in a new environment, while Jones has fought in Madison Square Gardens before and loves fighting there.

Jones will be really pumped for this one, so he'll be the best he can be at age 39. And I think he's still very good.

Yeah, if Calzaghe got into his macho bull**** then it would wind up a scrappy fight. If Calzaghe treats Johnson with the same respect he treated Kessler and boxes him he looks great boxing to a wide UD. I reckon.

Dawson is a better Boxer than Joe period he has far more attributes better defence, more speed ,better combinations ,better technique ,better body puncher ,

they only thing Joe has over Dawson is his chin

what else do you see that he has over Dawson cause that is all i see

Dawson is just as fit and i realise Joe Calzaghe has good footwork but i think Dawson's footwork is great aswell i cant see what else Calzaghe has over Dawson

he gets hit more he does not go to the body aswell as Dawson he punches wide where as Dawson punchers straight and short ,Dawson is easily quicker IMO

A lot of that is quite superficial though, what Dawson lacks, and that Calzaghe has in spades is the ability to put it all together the right way in the ring. Calzaghe is the far superior tactical boxer, better footwork and positioning, better control of distance etc. We both know Dawson would have a hell of a job on his hands once Calzaghe worked out how to negate Dawson's game. For me the whole fight would come down basically to whether or not Dawson's natural advantages were such that he could keep doing what he wants to do even once Calzaghe has worked out how to stop him.
