When Hopkins punches, he leans into it so it looks like he pushed Joe on the ground. It was a clean right hand and a legit knockdown, just look at Joe's facial expression afterward. Was he out on his feet? Of course not, but was he stunned? Yes. His punches are just to wide.

He certainly got caught and he leaned into the punch as a kind of follow through, it was a knockdown, but certainly no indication of a poor chin. I don't think Calzaghe;s punches are too wide, if the were he would have lost by now.

he is too quick for an aged Joe has plenty of stamina he is a big LHW and he has to much variety and footwork for Joe Calzaghe

How do you think a fight between Chad and Joe would go slick?

I (personally) feel that Chad would get by with his naturally bigger size, superior hand speed, straighter punches and power. Since Joe doesn't have the power to bother Dawson and would get picked apart in an inside battle, then how would he win? I like Dawson by a somewhat close decision but judging by Chad's last performance, the majority of boxing scene will disagree and i am not surprised. But we must remember that styles makes fights and Johnson was willing to take some huge bombs to get on the inside and he is brilliant when he gets there.

nah the fight with Joe and Chad would be close but i think Dawson wins by clear decision to young and strong and a better Boxer IMO

Of course Joe has a great chin, anyone can be caught and Hopkins is not a feather fisted puncher and Joe was also fighting at a weight that hes never been at before and against his best opponent.

Hmm. I agree he has physical advantages, but I can't imagine any circumstance in which he has any kind of easy fight with Joe. If Dawson could beat Joe I think his size would be the deciding factor. Joe isn't a LHW and does like to impose himself on his opponent. If he couldn't do this because of dawson's size then I could conceivably see Dawson's fast hands allowing him to land the magic 'cleaner harder shots', but to be honest I think Cal would be too good for him.

when i watch Joe box i think good Boxer when i watch Dawson i think wow look at the combination punching to head and body the footwork and the way he punches straight and accurate

i think Dawson is way to good technically for Calzaghe ,Hopkins made him look terrible and his wide punchers were there for all to see he got tagged with the first straight right of the fight

What about Dawson's incredible fright at actually being hit by Glen Johnson? At times he looked like he had no clue. This is not a good recipe for victory in a fight against Calzaghe IMO.

Johnson is an orthadox fighter and lets not pretend Joe would not struggle against Johnson cause we know he does not cope well with rough tough rugged guys like Johnson

I would love to see a fight between Joe and Chad right now. It would be fantastic IMO, extremely close as well. In a year or so I think Chad would win. Just too strong, too fast, too young. Joe is starting to fade and in a year's time I feel he will be the shell of his former self. That is why I think he should hang them up after the Roy fight.
