As a brit I look at those numbers and pity the commitment shown by US fans towards the top level fighters.

They may be solid numbers over there, but I can't grasp how little interest there is. I'd give my left nut to see a PBF/Cotto/Marg whoever fight. Hell I'd pay $60 to see Judah fight live.

At least Cotto could sell out an arena in NY/Atlantic city (even though those are not his home).. Mayweather couldn't even sell out in his home state prior to DLH.
But anyway, Boxing isn't as big over here as it is over there in Europeland.

Y'all forget that Cotto is a fighter fighting outside of his country and STILL has a large fan base.. Mayweather couldn't sell out in his OWN country.. How well do you think a gate in Puerto Rico would do for Cotto?

The Tito fight did very well. But Tito is a charismatic fighter. And if some of you think I'm a Floyd nuthugger, then you didn't want to know me during Tito's prime.

As soon as a trinidad fight was announced, i would buy a plane ticket. I had a death grip on Tito's ballsack. I love that dude.

Shane is not a charismatic guy, and really doesn't know how to sell a fight . Not the way vargas, hopkins, mayorga, or Floyd can sell their fights. Shane has solid name recognition, but his nums are ****ty unless matched with a big name. His fight with Collazo was an ********.

Euro fans are MUCH more into the live event. Americans hear about a big fight and they think "fight party".

Americans have been groomed to think of big events in terms of TV. I think it is the Superbowl effect. And the advertisers and commercial sponsors WANT them to think that way.

Theres fans out there STARVED of Live boxing, who cant afford to Travel all the way to Vegas or New York, I think its something that should be addresed.
Also Im not a football fan but when Barca play in Scotland or other top teams id go see em just for the event, im sure there would be plenty of people who'd be the same with boxing and if they enjoyed the fight then Bingo NEW boxing fans!

He couldn't that's FACT he had trouble filling up other smaller venues here in Las Vegas what makes you think he would fill up the MGM Grand Garden?? He last fought there against Castillo which did not sell out and after that he had to fight @ the Mandalay Bay and UNLV Thomas & Mack.. Carlos Baldomir was no where near to being sold they even had to give out some free tickets.
