he lost twice to sam peter in the heavywieght division again toney far past his prime in light heavy and heavywieght but i do think he was a bit comfortable at crusierwieght.
He is definatly not overrated i dnt see any james toney nuthuggers on this forum but for u to say hes overrated he aint that gd cause he lost to nobodies thats the exact same thing that happened to roy jones and he stil is very overrated so whats the difference?
I JUST EXPLAINED THAT! Did you even read my post before commenting on it?

Jones was old and shot in his losses to Tarver and Johnson, Toney was most certainly not old or shot in his losses to Thadzi or Tiberi, and the caliber of fighters Jones lost to when past his prime was at least as good or better than the caliber Toney lost to when in his prime. Toney was fine at LHW, one of his best performances against Jirov took place there. His peak may have been at 168, but don't tell me he was past his prime or anywhere near shot at LHW. He was fine there.

Toney, in his prime, lost to Tiberi, Griffin twice, Thadzi, and was given a gift against an old, damn near shot McCallum. Jones on the other hand, KO'd Griffin in one round and basically shut out McCallum, kinda like he did Toney.

Again, I am not saying Toney was bad, I am saying he is overrated by guys like Shawn, who consider him better than Roy Jones. Do you get it now, or are you going to just not read my post againt and post the same stuff?

Again, what fights were his best wins? I have mentioned Barkley and Nunn as the best opponents that he beat. What were better opponents for him? I will wait

He was given a gift wrapped win against Tiberi. Watch the fight, I have spoken to die hard Toney fans who know he didn't deserve that one. Here's a simple highlight, notice the guy who posted it was a Toney fan.

Numb nuts, get this through your head. James Toney did not lose to Dave Tiberi. How many different ways do I have to say that before you stop claiming he did?

In other words you haven't seen the fight. No way anyone who watched could score it for Toney, unless they scored the Jones/Toney fight a close one. Then again, look who I'm arguing with.

Unlike you, I actually watch the whole fight instead of watching a Highlight reel specifically created to show Toney looking bad. Obviously it wasn't his best performance, but it was no more gift wrapped then Mayweathers win over Castillo.

Im still waiting to hear how Toney was schooled by Michael Nunn.
