He's had some good performances. Barkley, and the win over Nunn was good, but he's not that good people.

Of course his fans will now come in with "Whenever Toney lost, it was because he was unmotivated. Whenever he was hit or did something slightly wrong in the ring, it was because he didn't have the motivation to move out of the way in that particular sequence."

How was the Nunn fight a good performance when he was virtually getting outboxed for every round before he got the KO? I mean getting KO was good and all but he was outboxed throughout the fight

Floyd Mayweather? I'm not even going to respond to that. Both Jones, Toney and Leonard would make him look silly.
WTF greatness should be based on what other great fighters u fought & how well u did against them IE leonard V hagler ,Hearns ,Duran

not how easily u beat up bum's like Frazier ,Hall ,Kelly, & how spectacular u looked doing it

u never saw Roy in a Ring with the Calibre of fighters that u saw Leonard in with so how can u measure his greatness to Leonard's ,Leonard proved himself against the best ATG fighter's like Hagler ,Heanrs ,Duran

There are so many things wrong with this, aside from just his schooling at the hands of the very same Roy Jones. Roy would never have lost to a bum like Dave Tiberi and gotten a gift, or lost twice to Montell Griffin. Roy beat old man McCallum's ass, Toney was given a gift in one of the fights. Toney showed his prime in a fighter tailor-made for him, in Iran Barkley. Roy showed in his prime in James Toney himself.

You overrate James Toney to a completely laughable degree.

He was losing 6 rounds to 4, it was not the schooling many unjustly make it out to be, but he was getting outboxed for the majority. He had won the last couple rounds prior to the KO as well.

I go into boxing gyms every day of the week, thank you very much, know why don't you try it?

Ah, thats right, you would much rather sit at home and preach the praises of Floyd Mayweather, then actually step into the squared circle and learn the brilliance of James Toney.

No harm done though. Just realize, had Floyd fought as often, or against the kind of opposition that Toney did, Floyd too would have loses.

Yeah, Floyd would lose to guys like Tiberi, Griffin, and old men like McCallum was when Toney fought him. Not to mention the incredible Drake Thadzi! No way Floyd gets past a fighter of that caliber!

I have trouble with anyone that says Toney was getting schooled. Toney was losing rounds, but in know way was he getting schooled, or outclassed. It is a classic example of Toney losing rounds due to inactivity.

He was working his defense beautifully, especially considering it was against a southpaw. Don't pay attention to the punch stats, Toney was not getting hit nearly as much as they indicate.

Did James Toney **** your mom or something? You seem to have an unnatural hatred for the man.

That's ok, I understand. You got totally owned in a boxing debate so you try a desperate personal attack against someone you know nothing about. You have no idea about what skills I may or may not have. However you do now know that your boxing knowledge lacks badly compared to me (and no doubt many others here).
