Someone looked into a mirror and said "MMA" three times.

Nope. I'm the symptom. Not the source.

                Let's put it this way.

As long as boxers make ill informed opinions about MMA, your going to get this kind of activity. If not here, in some other boxing forum. MMA fans are going to try to dismantle everything said and try to put the sport in the best light possible. I do admit that a large portion are nuthuggers.

Unless boxers make more informed opinions or are cool and indifferent about the sport, these activities will still go on.

The MMA fighters can't use boxing techniques because if they took a traditional boxing stance they would be tackled to the ground instantly. They need to keep a much different standing defense than boxers do to defend against the takedowns.

It's two entirely different sports. You wouldn't ask an NBA center to go play linebacker in the NFL and expect him to do good, would you? That's how different MMA and boxing are.

Boxing is just used to be the only kid on the block, the only combat sport around, and now that they have some competition they are whining about it. Maybe if boxing had a few less Oscar-Mayweather/Taylor-Spinks snoozers and more Kelly-Pavlik/Cotto-Judah fights, there would be nothing to whine about.

A good example would be DLH bring Diego Sanchez to Puerto Rico to train. Diego showed him thecniques used by MMA to train conditioning and strength and DLH taught Diego some boxing technique. An even trade.

Imagine how filled the boxing gyms would be if Boxing just accepted MMA as a different sport and help train future fighters with future boxers.
