lol i gotta agree naming yourself marvelous is quite ridiculous

UFC fighters use no boxing defense and swing wildy...boxers through punches down the middle and wild punches wouldn't touch'em. If you try to shoot a smart boxer uppercut will end your night. BOxers train to hit moving targets and move on their feet...UFC fighters stand flat come straight in face first. UFC fighters have some of the worst boxing skills I have ever seen. It would be a nasty mess when a one-two lands from a pro-boxer with those little gloves. You have to remeber too that UFC guys try to train for every fioghting style around boxers on the other hand train in one art and master it...key word master. Thats why they can hit each otehr 100 times and noone go down. BOxers one-two its over. They master the art of boxing UFC guys are sloppy in everything.
      couldn't agree more

UFC is a jack of all trades, master of none

everyone trying to say "oh UFC takes all this skill both sports are great", cut the **** and call it like it really is. UFC fighters are sanctioned street fights that people watch for blood and gore. sure theres some skill involved in the ground game but the level of skill is nowhere near that of boxing. boxing is a sweet science while the UFC ground game is bitter dry humping

people argue "oh but this guy in the UFC is skilled in ju jitsu, tae kwon do, etc". but they master none of them. they have a little taste of each one but their skill level in each discipline is a C-

tito ortiz's skill level would be like a C level fighter in boxing, at best

Hagler is an idiot in his statement "I see no skills in the UFC". Oh, so Muay thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Wreslting and ect... aren't skills? Evidently the avergage MMArtist doesn't have the boxing skills of the average boxer, but it's based solely on 2 facts. For one MMArtists don't have time to work specifically on perfectionning one craft like boxers do because they have too many other aspect of the game to worry about and for 2, a traditional boxing approach won't work in a MMA fight. What most people fail to understand is that Boxing is a martial art and therefore only 1 of the 100 aspects of MMA.

I wish all this MMA/Boxing talk would stop because at the end of the day it's like saying comparing a sprinter to a wide receiver. They both run, but they practice two completely different sports and they each wouldn't perform well in the other guy's sport.

When are they going to bring back the lions and tigers and bear stuff in the Coliseum?

I particularly don't like the kicks to the legs thing. The recipients of that are in for a lifetime of debilitating leg injuries.

              ww

Oh ok, so first and foremost, you're not a fan of KickBoxing or Muay Thai. How can you critisize a sport you know nothing of?

It should have been the end of the thread after this post.
