When you're unsure about a subject, just avoid it. Do not make up fake facts about fighting, because when you're on a fighting forum, chances are there maybe someone on that forum that has some knowledge and could call you up on your statements.
Competed in the am's in 97'. Trained and sparring w/the best in my area [IBU, NABF, NABO, EBA title holders].

Trained and know the owner of MMA.tv [who dines and well knows Coutre, Liddel, all of em']

Recently trained MMA and watched it from its inception in 92'/94'.

funny how the best fighter in the sport is a "striker" aka a POOR MAN'S BOXER (liddell)

UFC = big right now because people just want to see blood/gore and someone get brutally KO'd. UFC is the latest fad for college frat boys to circle jerk over. its the new world series of poker. its all flash and gore and ZERO SUBSTANCE

BOXING = 10 times more substance and style, which is why its lasted so long. an AVERAGE skilled boxer is more skilled and honed in one area then the best the UFC has to offer

UFC may be winning some ratings now but its not built for the long haul. its a FAD. i'd give you 10 more reasons it wont last but i dont feel like typing
what mate liddell petty good was the fact that he is also a good wrestler who can stop takedowns.

Seriously? Do you even hear yourself?
I guess since you "recently trained MMA" you haven't learned anything about the ground game. Do yourself a favor, go to a BJJ class, say that statement and then ask to spar someone smaller then you.

Come back here when you're done.

                  BINGO!

It is just like a shot putter challenging a high jumper (and vice versa) etc

Same as a 100 metre sprinter and a 1,500 metre runner, both would beat each other on their own turf

I'm not a fighter, but I watch a lot of fight sports and know how to fight... It is kind of ignorant to say there is no skill in MMA, but at the same time the **** still relegates itself to a wild streetfight. The Mixed Martial Arts tag is somewhat misleading because a BJJ match doesn't look like a streetfight, and Muay Thai match doesn't look like a street fight, a wrestling match doesn't look like a street fight, and most people only wish they could look like a well trained boxer in a street fight, but the UFC looks like a wild streetfight, that **** looks like some Jean Claude Van Damme Bloodsport ****. The reason MMA is so hated on is because MMA is like the Floyd Mayweather's mouth... You hate the guy because he talks so much trying to validate himself... If MMA doesn't want to be compared to boxing they shouldn't refer themselves to boxing, and boxers need to shut the **** up, because they know dam well they don't want to they arms qwisted the **** out of place, or smashed with a legal elbow... In my opinion Boxing is far better than MMA, but I love to watch fights and can appreciate the skill dedication and hard work ptu into both. Because at the end of the day they are all "PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS" let me say it again "PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS" we can talk all we want from the outside even those of you whom do compete; but I believe that everyone one of us whom have a strong opinion abotu either side of teh arguement would get straight ****ed up if we stepped in either a boxing ring or a cage ring...
