    Why would you say so?

I agree with all the others.
Because a lot of people consider him an all time great heavyweight. I do not.

      Oh overrated at heavyweight?

      That's a fair assessment.

Yes. Tunney is an all time great light heavyweight.

Muhammad Ali. He was a better talker than a boxer. Rarely threw body punches. Many of his non-superfights are boring as **** to watch. Not the greatest.

Harry Greb. I believe I've heard the only fight footage of Greb was in Jim Jacobs fight collection so 99.9% of cats ain't even seen this guy fight before. How can you even rate this guy?

In general I think a lot of the old timey guys are overrated cuz there is so little known about them in comparison to what we know about the guys during "our era" & little if any footage of most of them so its easy to make them into mythical en****** to some degree just cuz of that reality.
Disagree on the Ali part. Not every fight needs to be exciting. But what matters most is that he showed up when it counted most and fought every big name in his division some multiple times. As for the body shots hw's don't usually throw body shots there to big for that ****. Generally the only ones that do are the small hw's ex Frazier Marciano chrisora Tyson tua but that's cause there in that range to do it and it suits there style.

Disagree with SRR, but vehemently disagree with Ali. Your reasons for saying he's overrated are laughable. So what if he didn't throw many body punches or always have electric fights? Dude was a monster physically and technically and proved that in the ring against top opponents over and over again.

Greb I actually kind of agree with.

There is a logic to this understanding of Tunney... It gets twisted and turned though. Tunne isn't the first light heavy to be so good that he could beat up heavyweights. At light heavy I wonder if even the Jinx could beat Tunney.

                • Pernell Whitaker
                • Lennox Lewis
                • Floyd Mayweather*

*Solely because he's undefeated, he's overrated now and will be historically.

Historically? Maybe by some but those who know their stuff will rank him in the right spot, probably top 50-75 at worst.

Are you referring to Mayweather? If not, whom? Please clarify.

I don't know who the most overated boxer is (probably Mayweather) but THE MOST underrated boxer of all time is Les Darcy, simply the fact that he is not an American means he is always overlooked in all time middleweight lists.
