what was your score card if you have one? I had vitali up 6 rounds to 3. Again he was hurt, otherwise my scorecard would have been even wider.
How do you know when the injury happened? Vitali was complaining about his arm in the corner in round three of the german broadcast.
It takes two willing fighter to re-match. Byrd never offered one and was controlled by don king for much if vitali's second title run.
its up to the challenger to challenge the champion.thats why he is called ,"the challenger"lol vitali never did!
Lewis challenged the two men who beat him and beat them !
That's how it's done!
You also believe a champion can't defend his title against an unranked challenger though I gave you multiple examples of them doing just that to which you did not reply.
So what is your opinion worth?
Here are some examples of Heavyweight champions defending against unranked challengers,
Joe Louis versus;
Thomas
Roper
McCoy
Musto
Dorazio
Patterson versus;
Rademacher
Frazier versus;
Stander
Daniels
Ali versus;
Dunn
Williams
Cooper
Holmes versus;
Ledoux
Frank
Rodriguez
You're wrong. Frank was ranked top ten WBC as Frank's wikipedia page proves...
Now ranked among the top ten in the world among the heavyweights by the WBC, Frank faced the 23 wins, 4 losses Steve Zouski at the Ice World in Totowa, on 26 January, 1983. Zouski also faced Mike Tyson[13] and George Foreman,[14] among others, in his career. Against Zouski, Frank won by ten-rounds unanimous decision.[12]World championship fight
Frank attempted to become the WBC world Heavyweight champion when he challenged WBC champion Larry Holmes for the title. Frank was attempting to become the first White boxer to be heavyweight champion since Ingemar Johansson achieved the feat by defeatingFloyd Patterson in 1960.[15] The bout between Holmes and Frank came about because Frank, who was ranked in the top ten among heavyweights by the WBC, placed a call to Holmes' house to talk about a fight between the two.[2]
Your list is based on fabrication, I'm certain Ledoux and Lucien Rodriguez were ranked top 15 by WBC too and may decide to confirm it later in week from my old 1980s boxing magazines which list WBC rankings.

So you had it 6-3 but you would have had it wider had Vits not been injured? Doesn't sound very objective.
And not once until the 7th or 8th did the translator say ANYTHING about Vits hurting his shoulder? You speak German now? Seems a pretty big thing to skip over and would probably cause the translator a loss of work for not mentioning it.
The rounds were close as were the punches landed. I had Vits well ahead on the cards, but like I said, that doesnt always tell the whole story. Vits had a chance to set the record straight, as he said he was going to, but he didn't. You can forgive that but not Lennox winning and retiring? BAFFLING!!!

I think the Brothers K played their loses smart . . .
and they shouldn't have been allowed to!
But you know, we know, they knew, Bryd would take any big fight (and money) they offered him.
Didn't they also do this in reverse with another fighter, Sanders?

They did. They took the styles that best suited them and tag teammed in a sport with no tag teaming. Does this help them individually? Not in the least in my opinion. But if you have enough fans to deflect from this.....who knows?

No you're wrong I said Ring Ranked.You've already admitted you are wrong,that Champions can defend against unranked challengers.
I proved it, now all you are attempting to do is a face saving damage limitation.and all these links are just a BS smoke screen.
Have the grace and dignity to say, yes I got that wrong,many unranked men have fought for world titles.
I only need to provide ONE EXAMPLE to blow you claim completely out of the water.
Patterson v Rademacher, but here's two more Frazier v Daniels, Frazier v Stander!
What will you do now, hunt for a magazine that says either of the last two were ranked no 25 and 26 by some, corrupt puppet ,alphabet organization?
Take a look at yourself!
So you don't think with two good working amrs the score cards would have been wider?
The HBO original broadcast translator said something about Vital's corner working on the arm in round three..
Where did Bryd talk of seeking the re-match?
Upon reflection this was a prime Byrd. A tricky Southpaw and Vitali took the fight on 10 days notice.
We know Lennox said he would take the re-match. Yet he dragged his feet for months, tired to make other fights only to suddenly retire when the WBC ordered the re-match. We have been over ths nunmeros times. Yet you won't accpet the facts. To use your word that is BAFFLING.
I don't know if the scores would have been wider or not. But to just assume so shows poor judgment.
No, the translator didn't say anything about Vits arm until the 7th or 8th round. I just watched the fight again yesterday.
Winners don't need to chase the rematch, that onus is upon the loser. Also, was it Byrd promising the German fans he get his title back?
Vits took the fight on 10 days notice? Wasn't he preparing for a fight while Byrd was at home relaxing when the got the call? Didn't Vit's have ALL the advantages?
You still want to blame Lewis for retiring after winning but see nothing wrong with Vits ducking a rematch with Byrd and going as far as retiring to avoid fighting Rahman at all. BAFFLING!!!!

In those old days yes, Mr no pro fights Rademacher was given a shot but in the recent decades nobody gets a title shot without being ranked by the sanctioning body of the belt. You should know this.
I'm not taking your word Daniels and Stander were not ranked. Why would Frazier fight unranked nobodies anyway? Was Frazier that mediocre that he had to duck all top ten contenders? I'm certain Stander and Daniels were ranked. It makes no sense Frazier would duck the top ten.
