    - - Dariuz was at the gushing headwaters of the European take over of the heavier weights of boxing that is still an ongoing battle thankfully. See Beter vs Bivol giving us a magnificent trilogy.Amateur Record: 133-15-2 (83 KO's)
    • 1986 - European Junior Semi-Finalist in the middleweight division, defeating Fabrice Tiozzo but losing to Ray Close
    • 1990 - German National Champion in the light heavyweight division
    • 1991 - European Champion in the light heavyweight division
    Professional record

    Championship Record
    • Has defeated 22 opponents (19 by KO) in World Title fights.
      • 21 opponents (18 by KO) for the World Light Heavyweight Title.
      • 1 opponent (1 by KO) for the World Cruiserweight Title.
    • Has a record of 25-2 (20 KOs) in World Title fights.

Only beat 5 Ring ranked challengers,Hall and Giovannini were never ranked by The Ring.Too many gimmees on Daruisz's resume for me.
A good or very good fighter, but imo, not a great one.
Virgil Hill is often criticized for cherry picking, but he actually beat more Ring ranked opponents than Dariusz .

Defended against only 5 Ring ranked challengers.
        Missed,among others
        Tate
        McCallum
        Sosa
        DeValle
        Guthrie
        Nunn
        Johnson
        Tarver
        G Johnson
        Telesco
        Too many gimmees imo.
Very good but not great, imo, and I don't see him beating Lewis whom Eddie Futch named as the greatest light heavyweight he ever saw, I also doubt he would beat Dillon .
He would however give any title holder a good battle,he was strong, aggressive, and hit hard.I guess I'd have him around no 25?

          - Dariusz whooped Virgil Hill before Roy did.

Dariusz can't fight but those put in front of him, including the big duck by Roy when Dariusz showed up on HBO in Florida promoting a legacy fight with Roy who was HBO's boy.

Like I stated, the Big$$$ was in Germany, not the peanuts Roy was making while ducking Dariusz.

          Jus da facts, ma'am

As we have just had the Oscars I thought this bit of acting might be topical?

SKANDALKAMPF Dariusz Michalczewski vs. Graciano Rocchigiani - Tiger vs. Rocky Teil 1 *FULL FIGHT *
            • Rocchigiani lost via disqualification to WBO light-heavyweight title holder Dariusz Michalczewski after hitting Michalczewski on the break during round seven. Michalczewski's prolonged, theatrical reaction to the punch was seen by many as way of getting out of a fight he was losing. Initially the result was a technical draw, later changed to a disqualification.

He got the Joe Calzaghe package deal. Highly rated by Europeans but not Highly respected by Americans. If they both would had fought or fought more in America during their primes they would had been more respected. Its Just an american thing. America media makes or breaks a boxing star. Just like Basketball.

There's sports where America media isn't overall respected like Soccer/ football. Maybe even Tennis.

To take it two steps backward, before media was nationalized, you can see that New York was the 'mecca' media (newspaper) of boxing. (1920 - 1950)

If you didn't fight in New York it was almost impossible to rise to the 'big time,' e.g. Charley Burley.

Today you must fight in Vegas.

                  Ugh, not this again.

The truly great European fighters came to America & beat American talent like Lennox, Fury, GGG, Loma, Usyk, The Klitschkos, etc. ...

If he didn't come over, it's likely because he knew that he didn't have what it takes.

It'd be like me claiming I'm the best soccer player, but refuse to leave America to play in Europe where all the respected players play.

                    - - Turki in the Saudi Kingdom is where to go now. He also booted Oscar out of the Ring along with Doogie. Nary a peep or squeak out of those two since.

This is the other side of the proverbial coin. I think Jab's arguments for Dariuz being top ten is compelling. He did beat some tough competition. But Jones was in the bigger fish pond so to speak. Tough division with a lot of excellent fighters...
