I am not writing that one generation is better than another, just that an argument could be made as such. And that being the case, you could argue that not all top 10 wins are equal.
Great way to not step in that rabbit hole... There are people who were boxing fans when Hagler was plying his trade, and have watched triple G, etc. Its always funny that the assumption is these people will reflexively bias the older fighters... its never considered there might be reasons people hold such opinions... some of which cannot be understood by those who were not around.

For example, During the golden age when Tyson was knocking em dead, we had a rare situation in boxing fandom: You had trainers, fans that were around when Dempsey was fighting, who watched all the way up to Tyson... And trainers who had been around those days, were asked who the best heavyweight ever was: Dempsey came in first, Marciano second with Louis third... Im speaking strictly from that generation that had seen Dempsey on up...

I could not tell you why Dempsey, or Marciano was chosen... But I can say that the people who made this choice had seen all the men mentioned as champs, fight.

Dan you hater lol... You just hate Toney and have no objectivity what so ever lol. What a fool.

Golovkin would beat him up badly.
Yeah overated because... Toney beat him lol...Now tell us how Nunn was winning before the KO... etc... Lol, your a joke.

You might as well be talking to a rock...Dan never stops... his hate for Toney is such, he will never acknowledge any point favorable to Toney... His pattern will be:

to repeat over and over again the same argument

Even after you show the fallicy of the argument he will not abate

he lives to come on to Toney threads and discredit Toney and no one is allowed to have any favorable opinions about Toney... Best to set limits with him lol. People can then go over the threads and see how ridiculous he is

              You noticed that?

Its something I've been working on a lot in all aspects of life.

We could all benefit from that process.

But, at 160-168-175 I'd still take Toney over Hopkins.

                  Thanks.
                  - - Nothing wrong with picking one over another fighter, but backing it up may be problematic.

160 was Popkins' best weight, but Toney has no best weight in spite of moving all the way to heavy, something Poppy could never do. Somewhere in the middle of that they could fight save they didn't because Toney was always too heavy.

Where's Boozo when we need him?

We’ll never know will we. I was talked about in 2003.

I can’t see any way Toney wins that fight. I’d expect close to a shut out.

Nothing to do with Toney beating him it’s entirely to do with the fact his resume is dead average at best.

Nunn was winning before the KO. Winning widely. Are you trying to dispute that?

It’s irrelevant because Toney knocked him out.
