  • Cmon now, nobody is arguing that Wilder was Ali 2.0, but to write that Wilder now was the same as he was 8 years back or so is disingenuous.

You dont have to like him, you can feel he was protected and over rated. But he was clearly a different fighter back then. Ignoring that makes it...

  • Wilder has a few things going against him in this discussion. First, he is currently is the decline stage at the end of his career, so its easy to pile on and act as if the fighter he has been over the last few years is the fighter he has always been- and that its only now that he has truly been exposed....

  • For the sake of this post I assume you mean their five most visually pleasing or exciting knockouts (as opposed to scoring a less sensational KO over a high quality opponent).

I’ll start with Hagler. I just missed out on watching Hagler’s career live (was too young) but he’s...

  • Yeah, but isnt that something that makes this fun. I know hardly anything about him myself. Other than he was a stout southpaw, liked to block punches with his face, but had some power, at times looked like a lot. Was the WW champ for a while with some good wins before moving up. Probably most famous...

  • I don't know if he makes the top 5, but what are the thoughts on Lou Brouillard?

I know he is most noted for his work at MW, and Ive only seen film of him at MW, but he was a ball of muscle and had quite a few KOs early on in his career while at welter. He seemed to have had some pop in...

This stems from a different thread I had, in April 1967 Muhammad Ali refused induction into the draft, and in turn was suspended from boxing for three years. Most consider him to have been the best pound for pound fighter in all of boxing at the time, by which I mean relative to his weight class (I...

  • You know, I really thought about that a lot and went round and round with it. His two losses were close- and if you look what he did during that time outside of the Benvenuti fights seemed better than anyone. I looked at it as one of those things that even the best lose to someone they are consistently...
