im a fan of both mma and boxing. but UFC 100 does not interest me much. but i agree that boxing can make some adjustments to make the sport better. on the other hand, UFC needs more improvements to be able to "Take over" boxing. its still far from what boxing has done. i like the old school MMA better. Pride is the BOMB. i kinda lost interest in UFC to be honest. MMA needs more matches to know whos the best in the WORLD, not just UFC. thats what i love about boxing. anyone can fight anyone. f*ck popularity. watch whatever sport you like. you dont need to follow which is more popular.
TS, maybe you are referring to Mayweather haters. you can be a pacfan and not be a may hater. vice versa. you can even be a fan of both. anyway. im excited to see the fight.
Floyd doesn't have to have pop to keep Shane at bay. All he needs is accurate counters, and control of distance. What people fail to realize is Floyd's footwork is superior to Mosley's. Shane will not be able to cut the ring off. If he can't cut the ring off then he loses this fight.
exactly. footwork will be the key
come on! it was a close fight. cotto was leading in the early rounds. mid rounds clottey was catching up. until he gave it away. he stopped punching in the late rounds. he could have won if he went for it. but he did not win the fight! the late rounds bored me a bit. but cotto did what he had to do to win. smart fighter. made the adjustments. cotto definitely won that fight.
i think cotto would be giving up something if he accepts 144. not sure if it would be a big difference for him. but if this fight happens, i would want it to be at 147.
I just want to see Pacquiao tested more. I am not saying he is a bad fighter. I Just think that people are saying he is way way way too good then he really is. And besides, if Pacquiao fans werent so high on themselves, it'd be much easier to like the guy. I cannot stand that so many Pac fans think he is a god and unbeatable blah blah blah. Stfu. I'm a Cotto fan and its not hard for me to admit that he needs to train hard bc Pacquiao is a challenge. But all the Pac fans just say oh, pac will win, COTTO gon get KTFO hahahahahahah. oh please. how about a real argument? I just do not like Pacquiao because I would love for his fans to get a wake up call. Just like Mayweather fans, which are also annoying at times. I'd love for Mayweather to get beat, so they can shut up...
same as cotto fans. but that doesnt stop me from liking cotto. as for manny being beatable, well he does have losses. and everyone is beatable. regarding the pac-cotto fight, i think it will be a good challenge for both.
no doubt JMM is a better fighter than hatton. but that does not mean he'll do better than hatton. im not saying he wont. im even giving him a chance to beat FMJ. its just that there other things to consider, like JMM being in that weight for the first time. his age. FMJ's skill. and both of their styles. etc.
What's up with all the hate on a man that's running a great, success and exciting buisness, that don't back down or take no shot from anyone and tells it like it is! I see now that no one like the hard brutal truth! LOL
finally watched the vid. dana white white may be correct. but i still hate him. haha. dont get me wrong. im still a fan of mma, just not a fan of dana white.
I never understand the hatred some boxing fans have for MMA, when i hear the hate i think its insecurity that MMA is hurting boxing. You never hear "f*ck curling, or water polo, or even college wrestling, nfl, etc etc" the fact that (some) boxing fans hate UFC so much and care so much about it, reflects on its popularity. I am a boxing fan first and an occasional MMA fan, I believe how dana white has the UFC set up would be perfect for boxing and he is %100 correct in whats wrong with the sport.
We need 1 title per weight class, we need better under cards, we need matchmakers that are in it for the fans, not matchmakers that are in it for their fighter and money.
good point. its true that ufc has 1 title per weight class, but there are other champs in that same weight class in another mma company. i think thats the biggest downside in mma. most of the people think the champ in ufc is the best in mma. but there are other mma fighters out there that dont fight in ufc.
Exactly. Cuz' he's supposed to lose to those guys.
The fact that he's overachieved with such limited skill and boxing acumen only leaves one explanation.
Well it leaves 3.
Picking the right opponents (shot), weight draining them, and steroid abuse.
how can u OVERACHIEVE?? i mean are you just destined to achieve something without any chance of achieving more than what you are supposed to? whats the point of all of this if we know whats going to happen?
i dont understand why insisting on a march date is considered ducking. why does the fight have to be in may? didnt mayweather fight earlier than pacquiao? is he not ready to fight in march? i just want to watch the fight. the sooner the better.
