cotto vs pac in 144,is it fair?

Yes because Pacquiao already had a fight there and look very good. Against a jr. middleweight. It means Oscar has to go 1 division down. Last time I checked Cotto is a welterweight. Good thing Pacquiao didn't ask him to go to his division (140), since he's the one holding all the cards right now.

No matter what the fights at, I feel Cotto is the underdog in this fight in my opinion. And even though I've been a fan of Pacquiaos forever*I believe the first manny fight I've ever seen he had blonde dyed hair, looked bizarre on him*, I will root for the man I consider the bigger underdog since I'm a fan of both. Don't hate me pinoys... I'm picking Pacquiao to win this fight, because I think he will. But I will be rooting for Cotto. Also it might have something to do with me really feeling Cotto took a shitload of punishment against Margarito who possibly could have cheated that night using plaster. Its even sadder when you hear that Cottos corner didn't inspect Margaritos hand-wraps that night.

I would say 145 is fair. Cotto can make that without hurting himself. 144 or 143 I think will weaken him.

I'm confident that Manny or Cotto could win at 147, so I don't know what the **** this catchweight bullshit is all about other than trying to drain something out of Cotto. And as I said on my other posts, if Cotto is dumb enough to do the catchweight than he is the dumb ass. History has already shown us that when a fighter goes down in weight that they feel weaker. Manny looked fast as hell against Oscar even if he was weight drained like some people say. I'm sure Team Pacquiao is willing to make concessions if Team Cotto wants the fight at 147. How about a same day weigh-in? Three hours before the fight sounds good. No bs catchweight, if Cotto can gain 100 lbs. before the fight and outweighs Pacquiao by gazillion pounds, I'm pretty sure you won't hear a whimper from Pacquiao's camp...

PAc last weigh in - 138...moves up 6 lbs........148 by fight night Cotto's last weigh- 146...drop only 2 lbs.........will be a middleweight by fight night. Yes, It's not fair.......................for Pacquiao.

It's not fair. The fight should be at 147. Would that be fair to Pacquiao? And you would probably want him to fight at 154, then 160 and hang with the big boys just to prove that he's not Superman after all.

WTF? Pacquiao had a WW fight last year dude and look very good. So why true WW have to go down and hurt there bodys? how much did he weigh in that fight, 147. oscar fight was under different circumstances. he was past prime and was a money fight. cotto is prime and is going to weigh 160. this is what i dont understand. you guys say its unfair for cotto to lose wight, but how is it fair for him to outweigh pac by 12-14 pounds by fight time. like i said two sides to the story.

It'd be fair if Cotto doesnt outweigh Manny more than 8lbs on fight night. Even 4lbs is pushing it. I dont see how itd be fair if the fight is at 147 and Manny weighs in on fight night at 148 and Cotto 160+

Why don't Cotto and Pacquiao go fight fighters in their own weight divisions if neither can fight at the weight divisions like if Cotto can't make 140 than this fight shouldn't happen. And if Pacquiao can't make 147, than this fight shouldn't happen. Cotto fight Mosley, Clottey(rematch), or other fighters at 147. While if Mannys people feel he is too small for Cotto, than he can fight fighters at 140 like Bradley, Campbell, and so on.

Pacquiao is a natural 140 pounder, Cotto is a natural 147 pounder. Them meeting at 144 is a fair fight, Not sure if Cotto can make 144 easy though. I would prefer if they didn't fight each other to be honest.

I think if they fight in 144,It would be big risk for cotto. first of all, Drained.I know He fought in JWW but it is very different story. He was trying to spend a lot of time make WW and then he is big WW fighter from now on. cotto would get a problem to make 143~145. He weighed in at 146 at the Clottey fight. Two pounds lighter for a mega fight isn`t so bad.
