Is this **** serious? You realize a good majority of the cable PPV order systems crashed for the Manny v Floyd fight, right? Estimates of hundreds of thousands of people ended up not being able to buy the fight because of this, but you think millions of more people are going to somehow manage?
Lordy...
Well he would be ducking Kovalev, but at his age fair enough, a decent excuse to retire. I don't think anyone really expects him to start a new run and jump around the networks and retire when he's 60 or 70.
Hopkins will smother Stevenson and make him look silly.
If he beats Stevenson and then retires right after it, that wouldn't be a duck at all.
Joe Cortez paid a visit to the Big Boy Mansion, and FMJ showed him his glass case full of his championship belts and he mentioned all the fighters he beat to attain those belts, I lol'ed when he uttered the names Gatti, Baldomir, etc..
I mean, we all know who he beat, but, him saying it with pride as if it was such a great accomplishment beating a bunch of glorified paper champions, lmao.
You're gonna make this thread without providing the video?
Lame
what happened to floyd's 40 million paydays?
- taxes
- al haymon's cut
- chest rubber's cut
- schaeffer's cut
- oscar's cut
- roger's cut
- sr.'s cut
- entourage's cut
floyd is looking at taking home about 5-10 million dollars.
you people will know soon enough how much money floyd really has.
Pacquiao due to him not living in america probably takes home more than floyd lmmmfaooooo pacquiao even pays his opponents more lmfaaoooo
The promoters take money out before hand and the trainers are paid separately as well.
There's 4248 tickets for sale listed on TiqIQ.
It's hard to go by sites like this because they could be listing the same ticket that is on sale at 2 different sites. I am sure there are a couple thousands tickets unsold on the secondary market though.
Because of fanboys who go to fights because of one fighter who is fighting, not because they called for the fight or they think the style of the fighters will make it a entertaining competitive bout.
They are brought in by the hype and personalities, little to do with boxing.
People are really stupid.
Says the man that is lapping up everything that spews out of Bob Arum's mouth.
The reason why Maidana is getting such a low purse is because you mugs, you fanboys, who chase around your fighter like little girls chase around Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus.
You don't want to watch good match ups, great entertainment, competitive bouts that have you on the edge of your seats.
You just want to bow down and worship you favourite fighter, and who he fights doesn't matter one iota. It does matter if the fight is not competitive or that you called for the fight or if it will be entertaining. You are a fanboy.
You stay away from the great fights that happen every weekend and thats why some fighters for all the entertainment they bring the tough road they have gone down they get given peanuts.
In the sporting world boxing fans are the equivalent to Lady Gaga, Little Monsters, and what ever name Beiber fans call themselves.
You lot should be ashamed, you know who you are:boxing:
The reason is because he is guaranteed 3.5 million, but he will only be paid 1.5 of it on the night of the fight. So STFU with your bull****.
I think anyone ignoring Maidana's subtle improvements is just being a hater. He is still the same fighter, but he uses his jab a lot better now to set up his shots and his discipline has improved/conditioning has improved a ton under Garcia.
Theres been no buzz about this fight at all except for boxing websites
When Pacquiao vs Bradley 2 happened, Pacquiao was on ESPN, Jimmy Kimmel, etc and Bradley was doing interviews at NBA games.
I don't think Floyd or Maidana did any national network interviews for this fight.
All the sports world has been talking about this week is Donald Sterling so I don't think people really care about this 18-1 mismatch
Learn how odds are factored and stop spouting whatever comes out of Arum's mouth like it is fact, this isn't an 18-1 fight. :dunce:
Guerrero was the definition of a no hoper. Not sure why the backlash for this fight is so much higher.
And like I said, don't buy the fight if its not worth it you you, but preaching, protesting, trying to talk another man into not buying what he wants, is the definition of going full female.
That's what I have been saying this entire time, whether you think Chino has little to no chance or not he still has a better chance than the Ghost ever did.
this... floyd is a lot worse than arum.. i pity boxers who will be under TMT once floyd retires..
Big difference is Floyd earns his money in the ring putting his life on the line, Arum does not.
Not for Maidana, there isn't. He isn't seeing jack sh1t of the PPV upside.
There is also sponsorship money, international rights, and exct. still to come in. I could see him getting some of the Argentine rights to the fight for instance. Similar to a deal Hatton got, although Argentina's isn't a ppv and would be a far less cut, but still probably a good chunk of change.
Also this purse for Maidana reflects what Showtime is expecting this PPV to do numbers wise, which isn't much. They spent almost no money promoting this fight, no media tour, only time Floyd was doing interviews outside of fight week was when GBP had other fights happening.
Showtime is trying to control costs so they don't run into another Guerrero money pit like last year...
GBP promotions cuts Maidana's check not showtime.
OK fanboy.
90/10 is a fair split :dunce:
Too many fanboys in this sport.
No wonder Floyd attaches himself to Justin Bieber, they have the same fan base.
3.5 is more than the Ghost and Ortiz got. It's also more than Rios and Clottey made fight Pacquiao.
It's not a fanboy thing, it's a economics thing. Floyd is by far the bigger draw so he gets by far the more money. It's simple stupid.
does anyone seriously think maidana could beat collazo???
you guys are sheeple who bought into the adrien broner hype and now you think maidana is somehow a credible fighter for floyd.. collazo would beat broner cleaner than maidana did.. Broner was massively overrated, do you kiddies even understand that yet? lol.. seriously.. do you understand that yet? lol
I think overwhelmingly experts would pick Maidana to be Collazo.
Remember we aren't talking about the Luis from 2007, but the one 7 years later. He is not the same fighter he once was.
No he probably wouldn't. Maidana beat Ortiz in 6 rounds, Collazo beat him in 2..
!
well that was a real productive contribution to the thread.. why dont you go and do your homework before your dad comes home and beats your @ss kid..
The top statement shows you clearly know nothing about the sport. Stop making these dumb ass Khan threads full of complete bull**** and go away.
If you honestly think Collazo at this time is better than Chino than, well, like I said you're an idiot.
So Maidana was really the one that was bending over to get the Floyd fight? :lol1:
Not necessarily, maybe he chose a smaller purse in hopes of more PPV upside. The purse is only what the fighter is paid upon entering the ring, but there is a lot of other money to divvy up later on.
Well, seeing that he took a couple bombs from Mosley and recovered, I'll say his chin is underrated.
Maidana hits harder at 147 and will be able to capitalize unlike an old Mosley.
Hell, Maidana hits harder than anyone Floyd has fought at 147. Now if he lands is another question though.
However, if Chino lands a flush right hand Floyd will be in trouble, period.
I'm not too fool to give Floyd more reason to Duck Pacquiao, Martinez and any Legit Opponents again and again so I'm not buying!
But I hope the ducking ends here! Once Floyd got his 1st loss against a B fighter in Maidana he'll give the A Fighters a fight! Believe me I really want Pac to give Floyd his 1st loss! But It's 5 years of ducking already, I already gave up on that fight!
Maidana's the toughest Fight that Floyd took for a while!
That is completely foolishness. Your $75 will have no effect on Floyd, the only person you are hurting is yourself if Mayweather does lose.
Gold diggers are always gonna be there homie...
Mayweather is beasting in training camp, he always tries to give the impression he's goofing around with hoes but he's putting in serious work
I'll get the secondsout video, he's training really hard, conditioning is phenomenal, went like 20minutes non stop.
No one is suggesting he isn't in peak physical form, he just doesn't seemed focused. Going into a fight against a tough MFer like Maidana not completely focused and mentally is a disaster waiting to happen, just ask AB.
Again, I am not saying this is the case, but he does seem different this time around. Like he is lacking that mental fire. He's not even talking about how he is gonna beat Maidana ass and how this is easy work this time, it just seems odd to me.
Andre ward and Mayweather are debatable. But Timothy Bradley???The guy whos arguebly not won any of his last 4 fights, ahead of Wladimir klitscko?
These p4p rankings are a wind up.
I think Wlad is at 4 behind Floyd, Ward, and Manny.
All these gold diggers around him(and that is simply to make Ms Jackson mad) He seems more focused on trying to surround himself with woman, I just remember that being Tyson's downfall...maybe i just got the fight week jitters but i don't know if he is taking this fight serious enough...6 days to go
I am getting the feeling he isn't taking this fight nearly as seriously as he should. Maybe he thinks Maidana is on Rios' level and he can dominate him like Pacquiao did, but that would be a grave mistake. Hell, he isn't even promoting this fight, at least with the Ghost he was pimping it at the final four.
IMO Floyd has never been ripper for the picking in this fight and Maidana is not the guy you want to be fighting at your vulnerable. I am not saying Floyd is shot or anything, he just seems different.
