It all depends. If he sees it coming, I'm sure he'll be able to handle it. If he doesn't, it might just wobble him. I don't think it's a stretch to say that Maidana is the hardest hitter at 147 so he can hurt just about anyone if he lands some bombs
Why do people continuously repeat this myth?
I don't know. Maybe because Canelo is bigger and a true 154 lber?
This myth has already been debunked. Josesito Lopez said Maidana punches way, way harder than Canelo.
chino has 12 mins to take floyd out.
after that, its over
He can catch him cold sure...or try to
But he can also invest in body work to slow Floyd late for the kd or ko.
Thatvwould be my plan.. plan A... try to catch him cold for a few rounds... plan b.. bull in like a battering ram and put that bodywork in so it will pay off late so u can try to catch him up top in the championship rounds.
He's going to get hit and he has been before.
It depends on whether he sees it coming, whether he rolls away from it, whether he partially blocks it, whether he's moving away from it.
If you mean stand in the middle of the ring with his hands down and pull a Mayorga then I don't know if anybody can do that.
Maidana hits harder at 147 and will be able to capitalize unlike an old Mosley.
Hell, Maidana hits harder than anyone Floyd has fought at 147. Now if he lands is another question though.
However, if Chino lands a flush right hand Floyd will be in trouble, period.
Maidana will not hit floyd harder than that mosley overhand right.
Canelo has more power aswell.
He'll spend most of the rounds chasing Floyd around the ring, trying to land that "shot". All while getting countered. Same s**t, different opponent. All that power means nothing. If Chino comes out jabbing, then looking for his shots then maybe...
But that ain't his style so I'm not expecting that.
He defiantly has been using his jab more and more to set up his shots. Hell, that's how his big shots were landing so flush on Broner, he was setting them up with his jab. I fully expect to see Maidana coming forward and shooting his jab.

Didn't know Maidona was a bartender. Also
Floyd doesn't drink.
In any event, I'd have to say if the shot is Jamison, Floyd will be okay. He may do okay with Jack Daniels or maybe Bacardi, even some Tequila, But if it's Bacardi 151, Floyd may eventually fall.
Well, seeing that he took a couple bombs from Mosley and recovered, I'll say his chin is underrated.

We'll find out in less than a week.
And I can't wait.
that's the ONE and only thing that can make this exciting. Floyd is really good at reading boxers, but Maidana's "technique" is awkward and unpredictable that it may surprise even floyd.
El Chino is not Rios, Baldomir, or other banger who you can predict. Maidana doesn't follow patterns necessarily.
I've been telling people that for weeks, it's not the only shot that will confuse people either. It makes preparing for Maidana difficult, and it takes longer to adjust, and Maidana can adjust also.
I want to see how Floyd is going to adjust to the way Maidana throws his overhand right at a downward angle
Easy. Floyd won't be there when he throws it. I honestly don't think Chino will even get a good angle to throw it all night.
