hopkins will be the unified lineal LHW champ at 50

How can he be the unified champion until he beats both Stevenson and Kovalev? Both of these champions are very good fighters in or near their prime. Hopkins must fight and beat both of them to truly be the unified champ. Just beating lineal champ Stevenson doesn't do it. I think Hopkins is a great fighter but at age fifty I don't think he can beat them both and his chances of getting KOed are very good. Hopkins must be very wealthy by now and he should retire as he promised his mother he would do when he turned 40. A 50 year old is more likely to suffer brain damage than a 30 year old. Yes he is still damn good and could possibly beat any light heavyweight but his health is important.

I still wonder when Hopkins will officially retire. I wonder if he beats Stevenson if he would retire afterwards. Or if he'll keep going. It would be insane if he's still fighting at 52-53 years old & still dominating.

If he pulls that off he has a case to be top 10 p4p of all time..and should also be the 1st 50 year old to be in the current top 10 p4p list that might be a bit of a stretch think of the names you would have to bump out for him but if he can pull it off which i think he can he has go down as an atg but then again he should already.

I agree, Hopkins should beat him. Not sure about top 10 all time, but I think his ranking will considerably rise

Hopkins run at mw was good in longevity, but look at the names... johnson and tito the only respectable names out of 20... robert allen, echols, carl daniels,,, C'mon man, you gotta be able to see the difference in the 2... Duran got put to sleep by hearns,, huge difference than a mercado Also consider Duran was obviously passed it and like 35 lbs above where he started in his career. Plus, Hearns was a great fighter in his prime. No shame in losing to him even in that brutal fashion.

Based on what? his Leonard win?? Based on he has a better resume. Beat better fighters. Did a lot of great things.

Hopkins has a bunch of iran barkley type wins late in his career. but in his prime he was losing wide decisions to roy, and getting draws and being dropped by mercado.... Tito is his best win.. Duran has far better names on his resume.. No he's not :lol1: Louis is rarely in a Top 10 list atleast one with legitimacy. Well obviously Duran has a case for Top 10. Hopkins definitely doesn't and he won't if he beats Stevenson either. Why would Duran have a case but not Hopkins?
